Hello, I am Kim Hyung-taek, CEO and lead surgeon at Kowon Plastic Surgery Clinic, creating highly refined results with meticulous technical skill.
Today, I will be responding to a question from someone who is worried about having a big nose even after hump nose correction.

Q. I had hump nose correction surgery, but my nose is still big... I want to make it smaller
My nose used to be a hump nose and a big nose, so I had hump nose surgery two years ago.
The hump nose area was removed very neatly, and I have had no side effects so far.
However, the big nose aspect (the nose is high) has not changed... It is still too high.
At the time of the hump nose surgery, the doctor said that if the nose were lowered too much, breathing could become difficult, and there are not many nose reduction surgeries that reduce a big nose in the first place.
I would like to know the limitations and methods of big nose reduction surgery, the cost (I understand it varies by hospital, but even a minimum to maximum range would be helpful), and the degree of side effects and risks.
I have been under so much stress because of my nose throughout my life... I even wear a mask in winter.. Please answer.

There are limitations to reducing a big nose.
It would be ideal if it could be reduced as much as each person wants, but it cannot be reduced that much. The general approach is to remove the hump nose area, narrow the nasal bones with osteotomy, and then remove soft tissue from the tip of the nose and bring it together to reduce the appearance of the nose being spread out or large. If the alar area is large, an alar reduction surgery can be performed.
From the questioner's photo, it is difficult to tell whether the nose is a big nose, so it is not possible to know how much reduction is possible.
The degree to which the nose can be lowered differs from person to person, so it can only be determined after examining it in person.
The surgical method has been explained above, and regarding costs, I am unable to provide that information online. Please call or visit the clinic to inquire.
As for side effects and risks, general nasal surgery may cause inflammation, bruising, swelling, a crooked appearance, irregularity, asymmetry, and breathing discomfort.
I hope you get a good result. Thank you.
