Hello. I am Kim Hyung-taek, the chief surgeon of Kowon Plastic Surgery, who pursues healthy beauty.
Today, this is a question about whether taking ENT medication for nasal inflammation after nose surgery can lead to improvement.

Q. Nasal inflammation: ENT or plastic surgery? Does it matter??
I had nose surgery 9 years ago, and my nasal bridge was slightly swollen a while ago.
So I took antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication, and it got better.
After that, I felt a tingling? throbbing pain on the side of my nose next to the bridge (beside the glabella) and next to the nostrils.
With a bad feeling, I went to the ENT clinic first.
I was told that the pain could have been caused by nasal inflammation and rhinitis in the mucous membrane, so I took medicine for about a week, and I am currently recovering.
What I’m wondering is whether, since the pain was caused by nasal inflammation after plastic surgery, it would be better to get medicine from an ENT clinic.
There was an antibiotic in the ENT medication.
Can ENT antibiotics improve the symptoms of nasal inflammation after plastic surgery?
I have finished all the ENT medication, and the pain is starting to come back little by little. Should I visit the ENT clinic again?
Or would it be better to go to the plastic surgery clinic and get examined again?
I’m curious. Please let me know...!!!

The current situation seems to be that the nose swelled, symptoms improved after taking antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication, then pain returned, the symptoms improved after taking antibiotics prescribed by the ENT clinic, and then the pain occurred again.
If the symptoms improve only while taking antibiotics, and then the pain returns after stopping them, it would be better to visit the plastic surgery clinic and check your current nasal condition.
If the nasal inflammation is around the nasal bridge and the implant, you should visit plastic surgery. If the inside of the nose is swollen and the nasal mucosa is swollen, it is fine to go to an ENT clinic.
For nasal inflammation, the condition tends to settle down when you take antibiotics, and antibiotics can be prescribed by any department.
However, since the symptoms of nasal inflammation are recurring, it would be good to check whether the pain occurring around the implant is being caused by nasal inflammation.
I wish you a good outcome.
