Q. My nose became bigger after hump nose surgery.

Today’s question is from someone who had surgery because they had a severe hump nose, but feels it was corrected in an uncertain way and is now considering revision surgery because it seems to have become a bigger nose.

Q. My nose became bigger after hump nose surgery.

My original hump was quite severe, and the tip of my nose was extremely low.

So I had hump nose surgery.

Without inserting an implant, only the hump area was shaved down, and the tip was lifted only with ear cartilage.

But I feel like it was corrected in a somewhat vague way.

The angle at which the tip was lifted is also low, so from my perspective it has just become a big nose.

There are no separate side effects.

And one thing I’m a little worried about is that since the bone was shaved down but osteotomy was not performed, the shaved hump area is separated by about 1 cm in length / 1 mm in width. That won’t cause any problems, right...?

When I look at it, there doesn’t seem to be a major issue with the appearance, but it doesn’t look like the hump nose has improved either... It just feels like it has become another kind of unattractive big nose.

I’m really, really stressed.

Is there any medical problem?

And could this be a case where revision surgery is difficult??

When hump nose surgery is performed, the hump area is lowered, which can make the nose appear wider.
