Hello. I am Kim Hyung-taek, the head doctor at Kowon Plastic Surgery, dedicated to achieving high-quality results through meticulous technique.
Today, this is a question from someone worried because blood pooling appeared between the eyebrows after revision rhinoplasty.

Q. Is blood pooling after revision rhinoplasty okay?
Hello. I had rhinoplasty 3 years ago, and this time I underwent revision surgery.
I had surgery with L-shaped silicone, but the shape became crooked, so 6 days ago I had revision rhinoplasty to further refine the hump on my nose and make my nose look shorter.
Yesterday, on day 5 after the rhinoplasty, I went to the hospital to remove the tape, and after it was removed, they said there was blood pooling around the glabella, so they used a syringe to draw the blood outㅠㅠ It hurt so muchㅠㅠㅠ
Then today I went to the hospital again, and they said some blood pooling remained, so they drew it out once more with a syringe..
What kind of problem could this be?
And I was told that the blood pooling symptom is because it is not being absorbed. If so, could blood collect there again over time?
I am receiving antibiotic injections every day, and I am taking my medication regularlyㅠㅠㅠ Please give me an accurate answer!

Blood pooling between the eyebrows after rhinoplasty is something that happens fairly often.
It occurs more frequently in people who tend to bleed more during surgery or who bruise easily.
If the blood is drained from the area where blood has pooled and antibiotic treatment is properly given to prevent it from progressing to inflammation, recovery usually proceeds without any special problems, so you do not need to worry too much.
However, if blood continues to accumulate and inflammation develops, it can become a problem.
If you are currently receiving proper treatment at the hospital and taking your antibiotics well, I think it should heal without any issues.
I hope you have a good result.
Thank you.
