Hello. I am Kim Hyung-taek, CEO of Kowon Plastic Surgery Clinic, performing rhinoplasty with honest and delicate techniques.
Today, I received a question from someone who thought the nasal bridge had collapsed after nose surgery using silicone and septal cartilage.

Q. After silicone nose surgery, do I need a revision if the bridge has collapsed?
I had nose surgery 2 months ago using silicone, Medpor, and septal cartilage.
After the surgery, it seems like there is a slight depression in the bridge at about the two-thirds point.
I can feel the bridge depression when looking from the front, and when looking from the side, I can see more clearly that the bridge has collapsed.
Has the surgical result worsened?
Could the reason for the bridge depression be that the silicone and cartilage have separated?
When I touch the area by hand, it feels like I can feel the boundary of the silicone.
I had the columella done with Medpor; is it possible to have surgery again for only the cartilage?

The area where the boundary of the silicone can be felt is the part that connects from the tip of the nose to the bridge.
That area is also a place where a slight depression of the bridge can normally occur.
It is not a particular problem, and since only 2 months have passed since the surgery, it would be advisable to wait with enough time. If you are still concerned even after at least 6 months have passed, it would be best to discuss it in detail with the surgeon who performed the operation.
I hope you have a good result.
Thank you.
