Hello. I am Kim Hyung-taek, the CEO surgeon of Kowon Plastic Surgery, where confident and refined beauty blossoms.
Today’s question is from someone who is upset because their nose seems to have become an arrow nose after nasal surgery.

Q. After surgery on the nasal tip and bridge, I think my nose has become an arrow nose
Two months ago, I had surgery on the bridge with 2.5 mm and on the nasal tip using ear cartilage.
However, after the surgery, the columella has come down and the nasal tip has become too large, which is stressful.
- As you can see in the first photo, the bridge and nasal tip should roughly match the white line... when contouring the nose, that is the area you shade, but in my case, it is in the area marked in red.
My nose is wide, so it looks like a bulbous nose... why is it so wide?
When I touch it, it feels quite hard, so it seems to be made of ear cartilage, but if I want to match the width with the bridge, what kind of revision surgery would be needed?
When I told the doctor who performed the surgery that it seemed too wide, they said it would look strange if it were too narrow.
Would it really look strange if it were narrower? That area is so wide that my nose looks bigger and odd...
-
As shown in the second photo, the left side is my nose and the right side has been slightly Photoshopped.
Right now, my nose has come down a lot and looks like an arrow nose.
What kind of surgery would be needed to make it look like the nose on the right?
The nose itself has dropped, so the tip points downward and the columella has also come down...
-
As shown in the third photo, the area marked in red protrudes more than the bridge, so only the tip looks larger and it seems like an arrow nose... What kind of revision surgery would be needed for that?
-
Looking at the third photo, the nasal tip is very round and blunt, so it does not look raised at all.
If the dropped nose is lifted, will it look more refined? Or do I need something added to the nasal tip?
Would trimming the ear cartilage help? If not, would a new implant be inserted? Please tell me the surgical methodㅠㅠ

In the fourth photo, the left side is my nose.
Compared with the nose on the right, like Hong Young-gi’s, the width of the bridge and tip match and the columella has not dropped, but when I compare my nose with the nose on the right... what kind of surgery would be needed? In my opinion, it seems like the problem could be solved by making the nasal tip narrower and lifting only the columella..

The nose looked long, with the middle part protruding like a hump.
First, we need to know the appearance before surgery in order to identify the cause accurately.
If there was no specific cause and the nose before surgery was not a hump nose or an arrow nose, then it seems that revision surgery could produce the desired nose shape by slightly lifting the nasal tip and narrowing the nasal tip in the current nose shape.
However, since it has only been two months since the surgery, and the nasal tip is still hard, it is advisable to wait at least six months before undergoing revision surgery.
Please first discuss revision surgery with the doctor who performed the original surgery.
I hope you get a good result.
Thank you.
