Hello, I’m Kim Hyung-taek, the chief director of Kowon Plastic Surgery Clinic, who puts sincere effort into rhinoplasty.
Today, I received a question from someone preparing for revision nose surgery, who was concerned about closed osteotomy and general anesthesia for nose surgery.

Q. Questions about revision nose surgery, closed osteotomy, and general anesthesia for nose surgery!
I am preparing for revision nose surgery.
I had a consultation with the director before surgery, and we decided to perform closed osteotomy, insert silicone, and secure the nasal tip with cartilage.
But what I don’t quite understand is whether closed osteotomy is actually a possible procedure?
And another thing I’m worried about is general anesthesia for nose surgery..
When I undergo revision nose surgery, the director says I’ll be given general anesthesia for nose surgery, but I’ve never had it before..ㅠ

Closed osteotomy is a possible procedure.
Closed osteotomy is performed by making an incision inside the nose and carrying out dissection, so there is no problem at all with performing the osteotomy.
If you have no experience with general anesthesia for nose surgery, it is natural to be worried.
However, you will be examined before receiving general anesthesia, and you will be continuously monitored while under anesthesia, so there is no need to worry too much.
I hope my answer was helpful.
I wish you a good result.
Thank you.
