Hello. I’m Dr. Kim Hyung-taek of Kowon Plastic Surgery, here to be your trusted plastic surgery doctor.
Today, this question was from someone who wanted a revision nose surgery and was worried that, although the surgery had been performed as an open procedure, the bridge of the nose seemed low.

Q. Nose surgery revision: Can the silicone be replaced in a non-open rhinoplasty?
I had rhinoplasty with silicone in the bridge and ear cartilage in the tip through an open approach.
It has been a little over 8 days since the surgery.
It seems too low to simply blame swelling, so I’m worried.
It’s to the point where I wonder if I really had it done.
I’d like to make it a bit higher here. Is it possible to make the silicone higher with non-open rhinoplasty?
If I look up posts online, most say it’s possible after 6 months, but I really can’t go around like this nose until then.....
During the consultation, I was told that the cost of revision nose surgery would only be charged at around the cost of the materials.
If I want to raise it with silicone in a non-open rhinoplasty, when would the surgery be possible.......ㅜㅜㅜ

In conclusion, it is possible to raise the rhinoplasty silicone by opening only one side in a non-open manner.
However, in that case, it may not match the height of the nasal tip, so the shape may look unnatural.
Please discuss this in detail with the doctor in charge at the clinic where you had the surgery.
Also, the timing of revision surgery varies from hospital to hospital and from person to person.
It would be best to consult with the surgeon who performed the operation about your current condition once.
I hope you achieve a satisfying result.
I hope this consultation answer was helpful.
Thank you.
