Hello. I’m Kim Hyung-taek, the chief surgeon of KoWon Plastic Surgery, where elegant and confident beauty begins.
Today, this is from someone who had low-nose surgery. They raised the bridge height, but because it felt too prominent, they said they were considering removing the silicone and asked a question.

Q. It seems like swelling from low-nose surgery—would it be better to remove the silicone?
My doctor said my nose was low and raised it by 7 mm, but right now my nose looks too prominent and people only notice my nose..ㅠㅠㅠ
It feels like a plastic surgery monster, like an avatar.
My mom says I need more time for the swelling from the surgery to go down, but right now the area between my eyebrows really sticks out, so it really feels like an avatar monster...
I’m so embarrassed that I can’t go out.
I met a friend today, and they said I look like a plastic surgery monster and that it looks strange.
What should I do? Should I remove the silicone...
I had the procedure done by someone with quite a lot of experience and a good reputation, so I’m shocked.
If it stays like this, I think it would be better to remove the silicone. It looks too strange...
My nose is extremely low. I don’t even have a bridge. Still, I used to have a cute image, so I’m really sad.
- It has been 10 days since low-nose surgery. Will my nose stay like this? Will the appearance now be different from how it looks in a month?
I’m too embarrassed to meet my friends because I’m afraid they’ll tease me.
- If I remove the silicone, will it return to how it looked originally?
It has only been 10 days since my low-nose surgery, but before it gets any later...
- Will the appearance on day 10 and the appearance after a month be different? It’s really strange...
Also, I have a runny nose and rhinitis symptoms.

-> If it has only been 12 days, it would be better to wait and see. As time passes and the swelling from the surgery goes down, it will look much better.

-> If the silicone is removed, it will not be exactly the same as before, but it will return to something similar.
However, it is still too early to assess the condition of the nose, so please check the height after all the swelling has gone down.
- Will the appearance on day 10 and the appearance after a month be different? It’s really strange...
Also, I have a runny nose and rhinitis symptoms.
-> The appearance on day 10 and the appearance after a month are different. First, it would be better to wait and observe before making a decision.
The runny nose and rhinitis symptoms will also ease over time.
I hope this consultation answer was helpful.
Thank you.

This is a case with a short nasal tip and a low bridge. The patient wanted a natural-looking bridge, so we used 3 mm of silicone.
From the front, you can clearly see that the bridge has become higher.

In this case, the nasal bridge was relatively high, but the nasal tip was low. Because the bridge area was relatively wide, the bridge can feel lower than it actually is.
By reducing the width of the bridge with osteotomy, a boundary is created between the bridge and the cheeks, which makes the nose look higher.
Because the area between the eyebrows felt low, about 4 mm of silicone was used.

This was a patient with a low nose whose nasal tip had drooped downward, making it look like a hooked nose. After correcting the depressor septi nasi muscle and tying the nasal tip cartilage together, you can see that the three-dimensionality of the face improved after surgery.
