Hello. I’m Kim Hyeong-taek, the CEO surgeon of Kowon Plastic Surgery, who helps change the flow of facial impressions.
Today’s question is from someone worried about swelling after bulbous nose surgery, asking whether they should get revision rhinoplasty because the swelling makes the nose look artificial.

Q. My nose looks artificial because of swelling after bulbous nose surgery. Should I get revision rhinoplasty?
It has been exactly 46 days since my bulbous nose surgery.
I’m asking whether this is swelling from the surgery or whether something went wrong with the operation.
I had surgery using alar cartilage, and because the bridge was raised by about 3 mm, it already feels artificial to me now.
Others say that after one month, most of the major swelling goes down, but it has been 1 month and 15 days for me, and the shape still doesn’t look pretty. I feel like it’s worse than not having done it at all.
What should I do in this situation..
Would it be better to get revision rhinoplasty?
Also, the hospital says I should get a swelling injection. Is it okay to get that injection?
I’m so sensitive right now because of the swelling after bulbous nose surgery.
Please answer.

If it has been about 45 days, I don’t think there will be much change in the current shape of the nose.
Depending on what your appearance was like before surgery, it seems possible to explain the current postoperative appearance and results.
However, the front view or side view does not look bad.
It seems that what you dislike is that the bulbous nose appearance still remains in the frontal view.
I think it would be best to discuss in detail with the hospital where you had surgery about the current swelling after bulbous nose surgery and the nose shape you want.
I hope you get a good result.
I hope this consultation answer was helpful.
Thank you.

The bridge of the nose was uneven, and the tip was drooping.
By combining hump nose surgery with correction of the philtrum line, the nose line was improved into a more feminine and elegant look.

This is a revision case for a crooked nose.
Although it was not very noticeable in the photo, there was a slight deviation of the septum inside.
The straight nose shape was changed to a slightly upturned straight line, creating a more glamorous impression.

This is a case of a male patient who underwent bulbous nose surgery.
The low and wide bulbous nose was improved through alar reduction.
The plain impression changed into a more masculine and refined image.
