Hello. I am Kim Hyung-taek, CEO surgeon of Kwon One Plastic Surgery, who adds stability to the face.
Today, we received a question from someone who had a Radiesse filler procedure as a filler treatment before nose surgery and was wondering whether it would be possible to make a drooping nose through surgery after removing the filler.

Q. After removing Radiesse filler before nose surgery, can I get a drooping nose through surgery?
About a year ago, I had a nose filler procedure with Restylane, but it was absorbed too quickly, so I received Radiesse filler after three months.
After that, I continued to receive Radiesse treatments like touch-ups every 3 to 4 months for one year.
It has now been about two months since the last touch-up.
I want to have nose surgery around February.
Since there is no dissolving injection for Radiesse, some places say that you can remove the filler before nose surgery and then proceed, but a manager I know at a plastic surgery clinic strongly advised against it, saying the risk of necrosis and inflammation is high.
I had long-term Radiesse touch-ups, but I had no side effects.
My skin layer is also thick, and I want to raise the tip of my nose and have a somewhat fuller bridge and area between the eyebrows, like Lee Hyori or Vivian Su, while keeping the bridge and nose line from being too thin. I also prefer a fuller drooping nose rather than a sharp tip.
Is there a plastic surgery clinic that can perform surgery even if I had nose filler before surgery?
Would it be okay to have surgery after removing Radiesse...
And is there a place that has performed many surgeries like my case?
I am very worried.

Many plastic surgery clinics are hesitant to remove Radiesse before nose surgery.
In fact, the possibility of inflammation is also high.
That said, surgery is not impossible, and there are many cases in which Radiesse is removed and surgery is performed.
Of course, when removing it directly, it is impossible to completely remove all of the Radiesse.
Therefore, after removing a large amount, the surgery should be performed at a corresponding height.
As in the question, there is no place that specializes in operating only on the area where Radiesse was injected, so I hope you visit several plastic surgery clinics and get the result you want through direct consultations.
I wish you a good outcome.
I hope the consultation answer was helpful.
Thank you.

This is a case of someone who had a petite nose job using Scafolder threads.
Even though there were threads and Atherocoll filler inside the nose, the shape was not satisfactory.
After removing all foreign substances, only the tip of the nose was slightly operated on with an implant-free nose job.
After tip cartilage stitching and septal extension surgery, the nose shape became much more natural.

This is also a petite cosmetic surgery case.
Before surgery, the nose tip was drooping, and the bridge near the glabella was also fairly low.
Through surgery, the threads were removed as much as possible, and the nose tip shape was refined using septal cartilage.
You can see that the previously low bridge near the glabella was naturally raised.

This is a case in which reduction surgery was performed after dissolving nose filler.
The depressor septi nasi muscle was removed to eliminate the feeling that the nose was drooping downward, and tip cartilage stitching was performed at the same time.
After surgery, the nose tip was lifted upward, making the facial features look more refined.
