For men, the implant height selected varies depending on the nose structure and facial bone framework, but in general, the 3 to 4 mm range is often used. Nose bridge augmentation design is not determined simply by the height of the bridge itself; the degree of projection of the forehead bone and brow bone, the depth of the glabella, and the proportions of the entire face are all considered together.

If the brow bone is developed but the bridge area between the eyes appears sunken, the nose bridge may look low regardless of its actual height, and in such cases, choosing 4 mm cannot necessarily be regarded as excessive.

However, because the impression seen from the front and side, as well as the image the individual wants, may require appropriate adjustments, it is advisable to decide on a nose bridge augmentation plan after comprehensively checking the current condition. This is Dr. Kim Hyung-taek, Chief Director of Kwon One Plastic Surgery. Today, I will introduce a case of nose bridge enhancement for a female patient whom I consulted with after a recommendation for a rhinoplasty clinic.

Looking at the pre-procedure photo below, a hump was formed in the middle of the nasal bridge, and from the front, the nostrils appeared relatively upturned, showing a bulbous-nose shape.

After checking from several angles, the nose bridge was not straight but slightly curved to one side.

Most people have some degree of slight asymmetry in the nose bridge. Even if it is not very noticeable to the naked eye, structural differences often become apparent when examined closely.

In this case, the nose bridge was slightly curved and also had a hump, and while the nose was not low overall, it gave a narrow and sharp impression.

To reduce the impression of the glabella looking sunken, we planned a nose bridge augmentation using a thin silicone implant without overdoing it, aiming for a natural change that would not disrupt the overall balance.

Because the patient wanted a more refined and defined image, we focused on the flow of the line during the design stage.

The photo on the right shows the appearance two weeks after the procedure. There may be slight redness at the tip of the nose, but this is a temporary change that can appear during recovery and will gradually settle over time.

Comparing the before-and-after photos from below, you can see that the tip of the nose rose gently and the overall proportions became more organized. This case was carried out with sufficient consideration of the fact that the height of the nasal tip gradually stabilizes as time passes compared with the initial state.

From the front, the line of the nose bridge that had appeared curved was refined, and the nostril exposure appears reduced compared with before. As the outward-facing direction of the nostrils became less pronounced, the impression of a bulbous nose was also softened and improved.

In the side before-and-after photos, you can see that the hump was naturally refined through nose bridge augmentation, creating a line that is sharp yet not excessive overall.

As time passes, the tip of the nose and the bridge gradually come into harmony, and the overall impression also settles in a stable way.
