Mid-Face Lift Revision Surgery Case in a Patient in Their 60s

Hello.

Today, we’ll look at an actual patient’s case

and go over both double chin surgery and a mid-face lift,

while also reading the review from a real patient who underwent a face lift.

I imagine you may have been considering face lift surgery for some time.

One day, while looking at your face in a photo,

Have you ever thought,

'It looks somehow different from before'?

As skin loses elasticity and facial contours become less defined,

the boundary between the face and neck naturally becomes less distinct.

But what if there were a way to slow these changes down

and regain a clearer, more vibrant impression?

Face Lift and Neck Lift

can be an effective solution for restoring not just youth,

but a balanced, natural-looking youthful appearance.

Before that, I think you need to understand why wrinkles form on the face.

The main causes of wrinkles on our face are

lack of facial volume and sagging skin!!!!

One reason deep nasolabial folds are difficult to improve is that

the SMAS tissue in that area is very thin,

so simply pulling the SMAS layer alone

makes it hard to expect a satisfactory result.

Beneath that area, there is not enough skeletal support and fatty tissue

to support volume,

and because the distance to the oral mucosa is

very short,

mid-face lift surgery alone makes it difficult to improve nasolabial folds.

So,

fat grafting to the nasolabial area or buccal fat removal

can be performed together to improve the area.^^

The patient above is a woman in her mid-60s

who had an incision-based lifting procedure 30 years ago.

Due to sagging in the front cheek and around the mouth,

the nasolabial folds and marionette lines were pronounced,

and because of jowls, the facial line looked uneven.

Surgical plan

This is the appearance one week later.

Through face lift revision surgery, neck lift, and double chin surgery,

the sagging fat below was organized,

and the sagging skin and fascia, mainly around the cheekbones and jowls,

were lifted to refine the overall facial line.

It still looks quite swollen because of swelling and bruising,

but you can see that the facial wrinkles and contours have been much more defined.

This is the appearance five months later.

Compared with before surgery, the nasolabial folds and marionette lines have smoothed out,

making the overall impression brighter and looking about 10 years younger.

The facial line has also improved significantly,

making the face look much more feminine.

In addition, the scars from the previous face lift were removed as much as possible during the revision procedure,

and if any scars remain,

as long as you properly take care to protect them from ultraviolet rays,

the scars will gradually fade.

Seeing the patient gain confidence and look brighter after surgery

was another moment that reminded me why I do this work.^^

However, the results after surgery vary depending on each person’s

aging condition, differences in facial bone structure, skin thickness, and other factors.

Also, mid-face lift surgery

has even earned the nickname "the ultimate of lifting procedures,"

and because it is not a temporary procedure

and can last for about 10 years,

it is drawing interest from many people.

But the surgery itself is relatively difficult,

and because the facial nerve that controls facial expressions

is close to the surgical area,

it requires the surgeon to have precise anatomical knowledge.

If done incorrectly, there is a risk of facial nerve damage!!!!
