Before-and-After Case of Lower Eyelid Fat Repositioning Surgery for Men

Today, we’ll take a close look at lower eyelid fat repositioning surgery while reviewing before-and-after photos of an actual patient who underwent the procedure.

Dark circles are something that modern people find hard to avoid.

The skin around the eyes is thin, so it is an area where aging progresses quickly.

As aging advances, the septum that supports the tissues around the eyes weakens, causing the fat to protrude visibly or making the tear trough appear deeper.

That is why the surgery that makes a bulging lower eye area or a hollow-looking lower eye area appear flatter is called “lower eyelid fat repositioning surgery.”

Recently, interest among men in lower eyelid fat repositioning has also been increasing, so I’ll explain it using before-and-after photos of male patients. Please read until the end^^

Before surgery, front/side

This patient was in his 20s and visited the clinic to improve dark circles.

As you can see, it was not severe, but the lower eyelid fat was protruding, and the tear trough beneath it was casting a shadow. Since there was not yet significant skin sagging in the lower eyelid area, lower blepharoplasty did not seem necessary.

In this patient’s case, the key was not simply removing the fat, but repositioning it to balance the overall volume.

The surgical plan was to use lower eyelid fat repositioning to smooth out the protruding lower eyelid fat, then reposition the slightly sunken tear trough, and create a slight aegyo-sal to soften the contour of the lower eye area.

This is the two-month post-op progress.

As a month passed, much of the swelling went down, and the lower eyelid line settled naturally.^^

Compared with before surgery, the dark shadow is gone, and with the addition of aegyo-sal, the under-eye area looks much softer.

If you look at the two-month side view, the under-eye area had been sunken and cast a dark shadow, but after repositioning the fat and adding aegyo-sal, it looks natural and three-dimensional.^^

This is the four-month photo.

Even after four months, the repositioned fat had naturally adhered in place, and the tear trough and dark circles had improved.

This patient had some fat remaining from the first harvest, but because the fat graft had adhered well, a second fat grafting procedure was not necessary and was not planned.

Simply improving the tired-looking under-eye area and dark circles made the face look much brighter.

Finally, even in the four-month side view, the tear trough has improved significantly, and by adding aegyo-sal, the impression looks much different.

The patient also said, “my stress-inducing dark circles disappeared, and my eye area looks brighter, so I don’t look tired anymore,” which made me feel rewarded seeing how satisfied they were.^^

Lower eyelid fat repositioning may seem simple, but in reality, it is considered a relatively difficult surgery.

So rather than focusing only on the price of the procedure, you should also consider whether the surgeon performing it has extensive surgical experience.

If too much fat is removed during surgery, the lower eyelid may become overly hollow or develop a sunken appearance, which can lead to complications!!!!!

Lower eyelid fat repositioning surgery is a procedure with very clear before-and-after effects.

Not only does it change the overall impression, but it also has a youthful effect, so patient satisfaction tends to be high.
