Hello.
I’m Lee Won, the director of 21 Plastic Surgery.
Today, I’d like to talk about a concern many people have:
the double chin problem…
A double chin is not simply something that appears
because you gain weight!!!
What I have felt while treating many cases is that
it is a complex structure in which loose tissue (muscle), fat, and salivary glands
are involved at the same time.
Especially in cases where loose tissue is well developed,
this is exactly why “the double chin remains no matter how much weight you lose.”

Recently, a female patient in her mid-30s
visited us because of a double chin.
Her weight was normal and she was not the type to gain a lot of weight,
but whenever she took a photo, her jawline disappeared
and the double chin appeared layered.
After diagnosis, the skin layer was thin,
but the platysma was sagging and the salivary glands were of medium size.
The submental fat beneath the muscle was also developed,
creating a structure that pulled the jawline downward…
So I planned the surgery as follows:
Surgical plan
[Double chin liposuction + muscle tightening
- salivary gland suturing + salivary gland Botox]

Two weeks after surgery,
there was still some swelling at the two-week mark,
but the dull volume under the chin
had already decreased by more than half.
The fat layer refined through liposuction,
the tightening effect from gathering and pulling the platysma,
and the added effect of salivary gland Botox
began to make the side line look much clearer
to the naked eye. ^^

Ten months after surgery,
the results of the liposuction and muscle tightening had firmly settled,
and the jawline remained sharp.
From the side view, the boundary between the chin and neck is clearly separated,
and from the front, the effect of the face appearing narrower
is being maintained.

Why salivary gland Botox is important
Salivary gland tightening is meant to prevent and block
the portion where the submandibular salivary gland protrudes through the platysma;
it does not mean the salivary gland disappears.
That is why salivary gland Botox is used
to reduce the internal volume and help restore the jawline.
Especially for a double chin with not much fat,
and for improving a line that feels lacking after masseter Botox,
salivary gland Botox becomes a very precise solution.
However, because it must be injected at the correct depth and location,
treatment by a specialist with extensive experience
is more important than anything else!!!

The causes of a double chin are different for each person.
Fat, muscle, skin, and salivary glands.
At 21 Plastic Surgery,
we diagnose all four of these factors,
evaluate each one, identify the exact cause,
and design the most suitable surgical plan with the best combination.

If you are concerned about a double chin or jawline correction,
please feel free to leave a consultation message anytime.
You will become beautiful.
Because you have made up your mind
to become beautiful.
Thank you.^^
