Hello.
I’m Director Lee Won from 21 Plastic Surgery.^^
When people hear “three types of facial contouring,” they often think of surgery for people with a large face or wide cheekbones.
However, in reality, it is often needed because of structural issues that make the facial outline look unbalanced, regardless of face size.
In particular, a face with a short or recessed chin can lack a clear V-line even if the face itself is small, creating a cramped impression from both the front and the side.

The female patient in her mid-20s introduced today was exactly such a case.
Her face was on the smaller side overall, but from the front, her cheekbones appeared to spread outward, and her chin was broad, giving the lower face a somewhat square impression.
The boundary between the neck and jawline was blurry, making the side silhouette look dull, and the lower face felt short and cramped.
Based on this analysis, the surgical plan was decided as follows.
Surgical plan
Cheekbones (deep cheek repositioning) + square jaw
- chin (T osteotomy + advancement), chin bone grafting

One week after surgery,
swelling was still naturally present,
but the change in the contour line was clearly visible.
The front and side width of the cheekbones had been reduced,
drawing attention toward the center of the face,
and the chin had been slightly advanced,
beginning to form a stable triangular line
from the front.
The jawline still had some swelling,
but a more linear flow was visible,
showing a clear difference from the previous round and blurry impression.

Seven months after surgery,
the contour line had clearly settled.
The cheekbones were arranged inward with a soft curve,
narrowing the width of the face,
and the square jaw was connected to a smooth jawline
while maintaining a natural shape.
The chin was completed in a three-dimensional, balanced form,
creating a clear V-line from the front
and a natural chin-to-neck line from the side.^^
Overall,
you can see that the wide, angular diamond-shaped face
changed into a sharp oval face.

Even if the face is small,
if the cheekbone width, chin position, and skeletal angles
are out of balance,
it can give an unrefined impression.
Three types of facial contouring is not simply a surgery to
reduce face size,
but a structural correction procedure that creates harmonious proportions
from the front and side,
and restores the blurred center line of the face!!!!

21 Plastic Surgery
approaches all contouring surgeries not as simple reduction,
but as a process of restoring balance.
Rather than allowing each area to move separately,
we precisely design the procedure based on anatomical structure
and the individual’s facial proportions so that the cheekbones,
square jaw, and chin can be connected as one flowing line.

More important than a face that merely looks small
is a three-dimensional, balanced face.
We believe that accurately analyzing why the contour looks blurred,
and correcting it in the most natural way,
is the role of 21 Plastic Surgery.
If you have any questions, consultation is always available.
My greatest goal is to help patients regain their natural beauty.
Thank you.
