A double chin is not a symptom that appears suddenly one day.

� In most cases, changes first occur in the structures supporting the jawline and neck line before they become visible,

and the result appears in the form of a double chin.

The appearance of volume under the chin may mean

that fat has increased,

but at the same time, it can also be a sign that the tension in the muscles and soft tissues supporting the lower face has already decreased.

� That is why, even with the same weight and the same face shape,

The case I am introducing this time also

looked, on the surface, as if the double chin was the biggest concern,

but in reality, it was a case in which the double chin was being emphasized as overall support in the lower face structure weakened.

According to the preoperative analysis,

unnecessary fat remained locally under the chin,

and the sagging submental muscle was blurring the jawline.

In addition, the salivary gland appeared relatively prominent,

which made the space under the chin look thicker than it actually was,

In this case,

rather than simply removing the double chin, we determined that a direction was needed to reorganize the structure of the lower face.

So the surgical plan was decided as follows.

Two weeks after surgery,

swelling is still present.

At this point, rather than the double chin having completely disappeared,

you can see the beginning of a change in which the boundary between the jawline and neck line is gradually becoming visible.

� Before surgery, the volume under the chin was drifting downward,

making the lower face look heavy,

but as the muscles were organized and fat was removed,

the direction of the lower face began to be more neatly aligned upward.

One month after surgery,

as much of the swelling subsides,

the boundary between the jawline and neck line becomes much clearer.

� Before surgery, the area under the chin looked folded,

creating a more pronounced double chin impression,

but as support was restored in the muscles, the jawline became naturally visible,

and the line extending to the neck was refined.

� Three months after surgery,

as the soft tissue stabilizes,

the lower face line settles naturally.

� The volume that had appeared to accumulate under the chin is organized,

and as the boundary between the jawline and neck line connects smoothly,

the entire lower face changes to a much lighter and more balanced impression.

� Rather than simply feeling that the double chin has decreased,

the result felt more meaningful because the structure of the lower face was organized,

making the overall impression look cleaner.

As such, the key to double chin surgery is

not simply a visible reduction in volume, but the change in impression that appears as the proportions of the lower face become more stable.

It is not about how much is removed,

but about accurately analyzing why that area was emphasized first.
