Hello, this is Director Lee Won of 21 Plastic Surgery 😊
As the weather has gotten much hotter lately,
it’s become the season when
it’s hard to go outside without sunglasses.
But when you take off your sunglasses,
have you ever found yourself especially concerned about the area under your eyes?
In bright sunlight, the shadow created by under-eye fat
can appear even darker and more distinct,
like dark circles...
And when a deep tear trough is added to that,
even if you’ve had enough rest,
you can easily end up looking tired all the time.
Some people have already had under-eye fat repositioning,
but say their aegyosal disappeared
and their eyes look even emptier.
There is actually a reason for that.
Let’s start with that story today~

Did you know why the under-eye area becomes puffy?
Inside the eye area, there is a mass of fat that protects the eyeball.
When you are young, the orbital septum that holds this fat in place is firm,
but as you age or as skin elasticity declines,
the orbital septum gradually loosens,
and the fat is pushed forward,
causing the under-eye area to become puffy.
But that’s not the end of the problem!!
When the fat protrudes and becomes puffy,
the tear trough underneath appears relatively deeper
and darker.
That is why dark circles look more severe,
and the entire eye area gives off a tired impression.

Why does aegyosal disappear after a previous surgery?
People who say that their aegyosal disappeared
after under-eye fat repositioning,
the reason is 바로 in the surgical method.
The traditional under-eye fat repositioning procedure
strengthens the loosened orbital septum,
repositions the under-eye fat,
and then fixes it in place.
It is certainly effective for improving the puffy area,
but simply moving the fat has limitations
when it comes to evenly filling the entire deep tear trough...
In the end, the protruding area becomes smaller,
but the sunken area remains sunken,
and the volume that had been there before surgery
can feel as if it has disappeared.
[Surgical Plan]
Under-eye fat repositioning (aegyo)

To solve this limitation,
I designed the surgical method differently.
Rather than simply moving fat,
I start from the question of,
"How can we fill the hollowed area as naturally as possible?"
First, among the excessively puffy fat,
any unnecessary portion is removed.
Then, instead of moving the fat in large clumps,
it is spread as thinly and widely as possible
to fill the entire tear trough evenly.
Because the fat is not clustered in a specific area
and is spread evenly,
the hollow tear trough is filled in naturally,
and a subtle sense of volume can also be restored
to the upper cheek beneath it.
Finally, the procedure is completed by grafting fat
along the aegyosal line.
Once this stage is finished, a lively
and charming under-eye line is finally created.
Puffy under-eye area ✔ improved
Sunken tear trough ✔ filled
Upper cheek volume ✔ improved
Aegyosal ✔ completed
These four changes are achieved at the same time in one surgery.

If your aegyosal disappeared after under-eye fat repositioning,
there is a high chance that the surgery was left unfinished.
It is not enough to simply reduce the protruding area;
we also need to fill the sunken tear trough and complete the aegyosal.
That is the result pursued by 21 Plastic Surgery’s
aegyosal under-eye fat repositioning.
Don’t give up because of one disappointment!
21 Plastic Surgery will start again from the beginning
and do it properly with you.
Thank you~
