Health Insurance Implant Benefits Summary

Some patients may be receiving insurance implant benefits for the first time this year, so I’ll briefly summarize the key points.

<Conditions>

1. Up to 2 implants for people aged 65 or older
2. 30% out-of-pocket payment
3. You must have at least one natural tooth remaining.

If you do not have a single tooth left, this does not apply.

You can receive the benefit only after your 65th birthday has passed.

As of 2025, this applies to people born in 1960.

If you’ve had so many implants that you’re not sure whether you used insurance implants or not~

Since the government supports up to 2 implants,

many people think insurance implants are free.

However, this is a relatively affordable benefit,

not a free benefit!

Just like there are costs for scaling or tooth extraction,

the cost for up to 2 implants is also 30%.

Insurance-related fees increase slightly every year.

The 2025 health insurance implant price

has also changed slightly compared to 2024.

2025 health insurance implant price: 397,200 KRW per implant

On top of this, the price of implant materials used by each clinic is added,

which you can think of as around 50,000 KRW.

So it comes to about 450,000 KRW per implant.

Patients receiving Medical Aid Type 1 or 2 get much greater benefits.

This is purely the cost of the implant procedure itself~

But everyone’s jawbone condition is different, right~?

Some people may need bone grafting,

while others may be able to have the implant placed without any additional procedure.

For patients who need bone grafting,

the 2025 health insurance implant price of 397,200 KRW per implant

will be followed by additional bone grafting costs.

So when patients who inevitably need bone grafting

receive health insurance implant benefits,

“Doctor, I got the insurance benefit, so why did I have to pay more?”

Sometimes things like this happen..

It’s because bone grafting costs were added, but many people misunderstand.

As for insurance implant fees, the government sets the amount,

so even if we wanted to charge more in 2025, we cannot.

We only perform bone grafting when it is truly necessary,

so please trust us and visit our clinic.

There is also good news for health insurance implants starting in February 2025!!

Since the detailed criteria have not yet been finalized,

I will share additional updates later.
