Implant loosening — is something wrong?

In general, implants are fixed to the bone,

so there is a greater chance that there is no problem.

If a patient feels that the implant is loose or that the abutment is turning,

it may be that the implant screw has loosened or become loose.

Let’s think about the structure of an implant~?

An implant is designed with three parts.

That is why a hole is also made in the prosthetic abutment.

(For front teeth, it is sometimes not made for aesthetic reasons!)

After treatment is fully completed, this hole is filled with a white material~

If symptoms like implant loosening and the abutment turning occur like today,

the white material is removed,

and we check whether the screw has loosened.

If the screw loosens, the implant crown cannot stay fixed and may give the feeling that it is shaking or rotating,

Why does the screw loosen~?

I told you that implants are weak against lateral force, force applied from the side, right?

Since chewing force is applied while eating, it can definitely turn~

No matter how tightly it is fastened,

because it is a screw! It loosens.

How do you fix a loose implant screw??

The solution is simple.

If the implant is shaking because the screw has loosened,

a simple retightening of the screw at the Gangdong-gu dental clinic can resolve the problem.

not simple screw loosening,

but rather... did it strip...?

Fractured screw

If the same problem repeats too often after tightening the screw,

you should suspect that the screw may have broken or fractured!

If strong chewing force continues to be applied,

the screw can also breakㅠㅠ

In this case, the existing screw must be removed and a new screw must be placed!!
