Just as implant types vary by company,

the bone used in Gangil-dong implant surgery is not just one type.

There are four types of bone,

and all of them are in use.

can be broadly divided into four types.

1. Autogenous bone (your own bone)

Using bone from your own body

has the least risk of rejection.

3. Xenogeneic bone (animal bone)

and mainly rely on is xenogeneic bone.

It is mainly cow or pig bone.

Since it is animal bone,

you may feel uncomfortable about it,

but it goes through chemical treatment and sterilization,

when you consider cost-effectiveness and practicality,

there is nothing better.

Compared to human bone, the speed of bone regeneration is slower,

but it serves very well as a scaffold for new bone to regenerate.

Even with bone grafting, it is not 100% preserved.

In general, if 10 is grafted, about 8 becomes your own bone,

and the rest is absorbed,

but xenogeneic bone is not easily resorbed

and supports the bone,

so among bone graft materials,

it is the most widely loved~

4. Synthetic bone (artificial bone)

This is artificially made bone.

Under a microscope, its structure is very similar~ to human bone.

Because it is made artificially, it is the least expensive,

but compared to the other bone graft materials,

it forms the least amount of new bone.

depend on bone quality!!

Since all four types of bone have their pros and cons,

there is no one that is simply bad or good~

It just depends on whether there is a lot of bone shortage,

or whether only part of it needs to be grafted.

It also depends on the surgical site.
