Hello.
I am Lee Ju-ri, the chief director of Seoul Vardi Dental Clinic,
working to help patients regain their oral health the right way.

The most rewarding moment as a dentist
is probably when I hear a few words from patients after treatment is finished.
"It was so hard to find a dental clinic...
I finally found one where I can settle down.
The staff were kind,
and the explanations were so thorough that my anxious feelings calmed down."
Even though they knew they needed treatment,
with fear of dental treatment,
worrying about whether the cost would be high,
wondering if it would hurt,
all the patients reading this probably felt similar emotions.

You may have searched through different places,
wondering whether this was a clinic that overtreated,
and eventually found your way to my post.
You came to the right place.
I am the chief director in Sangil-dong,
a dentist who has patients coming to me by word of mouth.
While running one clinic, I have thankfully
performed full-mouth implant surgery,
and from orthodontics
have experienced a wide range of treatments.

After going through various treatments and organizing the thoughts I heard from patients,
in this post I would like to explain the values I consider important as a dentist.
My thoughts may not be 100% correct,
but with the hope that it helps even one patient,
I would like to share the treatment philosophy behind how I run the clinic,
and ways to find a good dental clinic even if you do not come to ours.
Why did I become a dentist?
I have experience living abroad during my childhood.
At that time, the treatment with the German grandfather dentist
who treated my teeth
was a happy and enjoyable memory.

At first, the dental clinic felt scary and I resisted going in,
but because of the influence of one person,
I was able to receive treatment comfortably.
After that, I had a good experience with dentistry,
and I remember the treatment going smoothly.
I wanted to become someone who could have that same positive influence,
just like that grandfather,
so I dreamed of becoming a dentist.
I studied hard,
was also lucky,
and as someone who liked folding paper by hand,
I became a dentist that way.

After entering Seoul National University School of Dentistry,
since this is a profession that also affects other people’s lives,
I studied hard.
I also completed a training program at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Hospital in the United States.
I gained insight into the differences in treatment between Korea and the U.S.
I graduated summa cum laude.
Being able to help others with the skills I have
made studying fun.
The more I learned, the more I felt how much I still lacked,
and wanting to study beyond what I learned at university,
I now handle overall dental care, including implants, esthetic prosthetics, and orthodontics.
Also, because Germany has a primary physician system,
I gained influence from foreign systems as I provided care entirely through one chief doctor.
In dentistry, prevention and early treatment are truly important,
but most patients overlook this.
They visit the hospital only when they are in pain.
That is why, in order to help people understand the importance of their teeth,
I am also very interested in education that helps patients care for themselves.

My dream of becoming the director who was treated at a German dental clinic has come true,
but there are still many dreams to achieve.
Technology keeps advancing,
and to provide meaningful care to patients,
I know that studying must continue.
Because I have a dream of helping the patients I treat
eat healthily for a long, long time.
The joy of chewing brings great happiness to patients.
A patient who came in with teeth so damaged from fear of the dentist that they could not chew
said they were even able to chew kkakdugi radish kimchi~
The joy of chewing
is something I work to restore along with health.
More than 90% of the people who come to our clinic
are referred patients.
They came because acquaintances recommended us,
family members received treatment,
and word spread through mom cafes,
and many people found me that way.
These days, there are so many directors appearing on YouTube,
and if you want to, you can go to a director who seems famous,
so I am truly grateful.
However, when looking for a dental clinic,
please check whether it explains things thoroughly,
rather than deciding on treatment the same day.

I have explained the importance of communication before as well.
Dental treatment is something where you can directly see the results with your own eyes,
and it is also something you can directly feel.
On the other hand, there are also parts that patients cannot easily know.
Whether the cavity was properly removed,
whether the prosthesis was attached properly without gaps,
whether the implant placement angle is accurate, and so on.
Only the dentist in charge of the treatment can know.
For dentists, "conscience" is required even more.

I have a very imaginative N personality, so I worry a lot.
What if, when I do not follow the principles,
it harms the patient?
It is okay even if the patient does not realize it.
My conscience will not allow it,
so I will always do my best at every moment of treatment.
And in order to prevent problems like this,
the patient must understand and agree to what treatment is being done today
before treatment can be carried out.
"Do you treat right away..?"
Many people ask.
Probably because they have had so many such experiences,
they may wonder whether this place will be the same.
However, treatment carried out without the patient’s consent,
without explanation, leads to mistrust.
Treatment satisfaction also drops.
To take responsibility for a patient’s teeth,
before, during, and after treatment,
we have an obligation to help the patient understand until they are fully satisfied.
Not just me,
but every staff member working at our clinic as well.
(I always explain the beginning and the end myself.)
That is the only way patients can understand
complex treatment processes.

Since some patients are even afraid just from lying in the dental chair,
it may be hard to remember everything after one explanation.
Explaining as many parts as possible
more than once
is my insistence.
Patients who said they changed dental clinics all the time,
but after meeting a director like me, they could finally trust and visit a dental clinic,
patients who came for the first time since childhood due to dental trauma,
patients who wanted every possible treatment done because treatment felt comfortable,
patients who had lost more than 10 kg because they could not chew,
but were so happy that being able to chew
had completely changed their lives,
these experiences seem to have built Seoul Vardi Dental Clinic’s Lee Ju-ri.
If, after reading this post,
you feel trust in me as a person, please visit us.
To the many people who come to us with trust,
I will repay you through treatment.
Thank you.
