Hello.
I’m Lee Ju-ri, the director of Seoul Bardi Dental Clinic.
Some places charge 500,000 won for an implant, while others charge 2 million won...
Which one is right?
Why is there such a big difference between clinics?
It’s the same treatment.
Are inexpensive implants a problem...
When you search online, there is plenty of information,
but once you try to make a choice, it becomes difficult.
Why Is the Price of One Molar Implant So Different?
Today, I’ll talk about the first factor people consider when choosing an implant: "cost."

Implants are a representative non-covered treatment.
In this country, once you are over 65,
insurance coverage becomes available, but unfortunately only for up to two implants.
Anything beyond that must be done as non-covered treatment.
In other words, since each clinic can set its own prices freely,
the price of one molar implant can range from under 500,000 won to over 2 million won.
(This refers to the cost of one pure implant, excluding bone grafting.)

Is this price difference simply due to the clinic’s greed?
Absolutely not.
There are reasons and standards hidden inside it that you must know.
First, differences in implant brands
Just like cars, implants have brands, grades, and countries of origin.
They are divided into foreign implants and domestic implants.
Foreign implants have a long history.
They also have abundant patient data.
On the other hand, because they involve import procedures, they are expensive.

You may have heard of domestic products as well.
The materials used vary by clinic,
but examples include Osstem, Dentium, MegaGen, Neo, Point, Dio, and others....
They are relatively less expensive than foreign implants.
Does that mean the product quality is lower than foreign brands?
No, it doesn’t.
It has become more standardized than before,
and it is widely used without problems.
Even within the same implant company,
different implant grades can exist...
If the material cost is high,
the cost of one molar implant treatment will inevitably be higher as well.
Second, whether there are additional items
To be precise, an implant is the root portion of the tooth.
230803 Fixture = implant = tooth root portion
So you need to check whether the price of one implant includes only the surgery fee,
or whether it also includes the prosthetic and abutment costs.
Depending on the clinic, some apply a comprehensive fee that includes surgery + prosthetics + materials,
while others charge separately for each item.
Oh, and whether bone grafting is needed can vary by patient,
so you should definitely check whether there is an additional charge!
Third, differences in surgical equipment
Guide fabrication
There may be cost differences depending on whether the implant surgery is performed using a navigation method.
To perform digital surgery, a guide is made,
and this creates an additional cost.
It increases surgical accuracy, but the cost is reflected in the price.
Something that looks cheap at first glance may actually be more expensive,
and something that looks expensive at first may, in total, be more reasonable.
I’ve explained three reasons why implant costs differ from clinic to clinic.
How the price of one molar implant is structured
should be evaluated after a consultation.
However, the important point is...
Simply being cheap does not make it good,
and being expensive does not automatically make it trustworthy.

That’s why, when getting implant surgery, price is an important factor in choosing,
but you should also carefully check whether it can be used for a long time
and whether aftercare is provided.
More important than the number you see on the surface is
who treats you, how they treat you, and by what standards.
Because my teeth have to take care of me for my whole life.
Before surgery, get consultations at at least three places,
and I hope you make a rational choice that suits your needs.
This has been Lee Ju-ri.
Thank you.
