Hello.
I am the director of Seoul Bardi Dental Clinic.
Because front tooth implants are in a visible area,
many people hesitate to undergo treatment,

worried that the treatment period might be long,
or that they may have to live without front teeth for a while.
"How am I supposed to go to work and meet people starting tomorrow
without front teeth?"
Since this is such a common question,
let me get straight to the point first. ^^
Front tooth implants usually take
about 3 to 6 months,
but depending on each patient’s bone condition,
this period can be shorter or longer.
Of course, you do not have to go through that entire time
without front teeth, so please do not worry too much.
Today, I’ll explain in an easy-to-understand way
why the treatment period for front tooth implants differs from person to person,
and how we fill that gap period.
- Why the period differs from person to person (bone condition)
Gangil Station Dental Clinic: How Long Does Upper and Lower Front Tooth Implant Treatment Take?
Implants require a period of "osseointegration," during which the artificial root
becomes one with the jawbone.
To use an analogy,
it is like planting a tree in fertile soil
and waiting for the roots to firmly take hold.
- When the bone condition is good:
If the bone is strong and there is no inflammation,
the process usually proceeds as planned in about 3 months.

- When bone grafting is needed:
If inflammation has caused bone loss or there is insufficient gum tissue,
additional time is needed to fill in new bone and allow it to harden.

This process can add about 1 to 2 months.

Speeding things up is nice, but there is actually something more important.
In the end, the key is how well the implant properly settles into the jawbone.
That is what makes it a strong front tooth that can last a lifetime. ^^
"Three months? That feels like too much of a burden...
Wouldn’t a bridge be better instead?"
That is a perfectly understandable thought.
Because front teeth are a part of the mouth that affects daily life even if they are missing for just one day,
the treatment period of 3 to 6 months may feel like a huge task.

So, many people consider a bridge,
which has a relatively shorter treatment period.
A bridge is a method in which the teeth on both sides are connected and covered like a bridge,
so it has the clear advantage of restoring the appearance of the front teeth much faster than an implant.
It also has the appeal of being able to align crooked teeth all at once.

But there is one important point you must remember.
A bridge comes with a significant burden because healthy surrounding teeth must be shaved down.
If the neighboring teeth that would serve as supports are already weakened,
a "domino effect" can occur later, causing those teeth to deteriorate as well,
so the decision must be made very carefully.
If you are wondering whether a bridge or an implant is right for you,
please be sure to refer to the post I previously organized below. ^^
- "Can I go about my daily life starting the day I have the tooth extracted?"

Social life while missing front teeth,
is the part patients worry about most,
and it is also the part we pay the most attention to. ^^
At Seoul Bardi Dental Clinic,
before and after front tooth implant surgery,

we carefully make an aesthetic temporary denture
so that there is no visible gap.

Thanks to this, you can go home smiling brightly
right after surgery,
and it will not interfere with your daily life at all. !!
- Case of full reconstruction of the upper and lower front teeth
Gangil Station Dental Clinic: How Long Does Upper and Lower Front Tooth Implant Treatment Take?
This patient recently visited us with concern
because the upper and lower front teeth were overall loose.

The upper side had severe inflammation around the roots of an old bridge,
and the bone had already melted away significantly,
while the lower side also had severe inflammation at the root tips.

In the end, we extracted 8 teeth in total,
4 from the upper front teeth and 4 from the lower front teeth,

and planned a support method by placing implants at both ends.

We firmly combined bone grafting in the areas where inflammation had caused bone loss,

and during the 3-month waiting period, we made a temporary denture
so the patient would not experience any inconvenience in daily life.
After 3 months, once we confirmed the values showing that it had firmly bonded with the bone,

we finished it strongly and beautifully with zirconia prosthetics.^^

Are you currently worried because your front teeth are loose?
Even if it takes a little time,
following the proper process that matches your condition
is the best way to use them strongly for a long time.
Before it gets any later, before it gets worse,
please be sure to get checked.
We promise honest answers tailored to what the patient truly needs,
without unnecessary treatment.
Thank you for reading such a long post today. ^^
