When consulting about implants,
the most common question we hear is
“How much will it cost?”
Of course, price is an important factor.
However, what we at The Star Dental Clinic would like to emphasize is that dental health is not simply a matter of cost, but a matter directly tied to the length of life.

A recent study announced by the Korean Academy of Prosthodontics makes this clear. According to a big data analysis linking the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey with mortality statistics, among Koreans aged 60 and older, the risk of death increased by about 1.2% for each tooth lost.
Losing eight teeth is equivalent to an increase in the risk of death of nearly 10%. What is even more notable is that survival rates drop sharply when the number of remaining teeth falls below 20. In fact, compared with those who have 20 or more teeth, those with fewer than 20 had a 14.9% lower 10-year survival rate and a 21.5% lower 15-year survival rate.
2025.07 Announcement of the Prosthodontic Society’s “10th Denture Day Commemorative Research Results”
Here is an important message of hope. In the same study, the group that received prosthetic treatment (implants, dentures, bridges, etc.), even with fewer remaining teeth, had a 15.5% lower risk of death than the group that did not receive treatment. In other words, scientific evidence was presented showing that even if teeth are lost, timely and appropriate prosthetic treatment can help protect health and life.
This finding aligns with the principle The Star Dental Clinic has always explained to patients. Implants are not simply about “placing” something. This is a treatment directly connected to overall health. We perform 3D CT scans and precise diagnostics for every patient, carefully analyzing bone condition, nerve position, and chewing function. If necessary, we combine procedures such as bone grafting or sinus lifting to help restore not just teeth, but a stable and long-lasting chewing system.

In addition, the success of an implant is determined not at the moment it is placed, but by the continuity of care. Peri-implantitis has been reported as a complication that can occur in about 20% of patients within five years after the procedure. To prevent this, we operate regular periodontal care programs and provide customized care guidelines tailored to each patient’s lifestyle. We believe this is not merely treatment, but The Star Dental Clinic’s responsibility to protect our patients’ healthy lifespan.

Many people considering implants hesitate because of the price, but the earlier research results speak clearly: teeth are not simply tools for chewing, but indicators that determine survival rates. And timely prosthetic treatment is not just an expense, but an investment in preserving quality of life and longevity.

We at The Star Dental Clinic hope that each and every patient will understand the true value beyond price. Losing teeth is not just a matter of inconvenience, but a matter affecting overall health—and we hope you will also remember that there is great hope in being able to regain it through proper treatment. We will continue to uphold this value and stand with our patients.
Thank you. : )
