Is rhinoplasty possible without an implant?
Hello, this is Apgujeong Kokoline Clinic ^^
Today, let’s take a look at non-implant rhinoplasty, which does not use an implant^^
Many of you may be unfamiliar with non-implant rhinoplasty.
As the name suggests, “non-implant” means that no implant is used.
In general, when people think of rhinoplasty, many assume that an implant is naturally
used, but that is not always the case ^^

Then shall we take a closer look at non-implant rhinoplasty?
Usually, not everyone is a candidate for rhinoplasty without an implant.
There are quite a few people who leave consultation posts with us at Kokoline or visit for a consultation, but
only certain types of noses are suitable.
A representative example is people with a humped nose,
who are more likely to be candidates for non-implant surgery.
Since a humped nose already has a high nasal bridge,
removing the hump does not significantly reduce the bridge height,
so there is no need to place an implant just to perform rhinoplasty. Instead, by lifting only the tip
and adjusting the overall line, it is possible to create not only height but also a smoother profile.
Even if it is not a humped nose, for people whose nasal bridge itself is high,
you can choose whether to use a 1 mm implant to raise it a little more, or to proceed without an implant.
The surgery can be decided according to your own preference.

However, some people are very reluctant to have an implant inserted.
For those who feel uncomfortable about having another foreign material placed inside the nose and therefore do not want rhinoplasty,
non-implant rhinoplasty can be a good surgical option.
But as mentioned above, the biggest condition for non-implant rhinoplasty is
a naturally high nasal bridge.
Although surgery is possible for everyone, the reason many people undergo rhinoplasty is that they want a refined image, a defined nose, and a more three-dimensional appearance.
If the nasal bridge is very low and surgery is performed without using an implant,
it is difficult to feel satisfied with the result even after surgery.

It is best to decide after confirming through a consultation whether non-implant surgery is possible for you. ^^
The advantages of non-implant rhinoplasty are that,
because no implant is used, there is no inflammation caused by an implant.
Also, the concern about implant visibility along the nasal bridge will naturally not arise ^^
Since no implant is used, matching the line of the nasal tip and bridge is more important than anything else.
At Kokoline, we can create a smooth nasal bridge using micro-osteotomy,
and naturally connect the nasal tip and bridge with autologous cartilage,
creating the line you want (straight-but-slightly-curved nose, semi-curved nose, straight nose)^^
This has been Kokoline’s explanation of non-implant rhinoplasty. ^^
