Since it is summer, many people seem to be curious about how to manage sebum in the nose after surgery, so I wrote this column.

The question we get most often is, of course, about using nose packs.

Q: Can I use a nose pack after nose surgery?

Kocoline Clinic: We recommend using nose packs one month after nose surgery.

For a safer procedure, most recent rhinoplasty is generally performed using an open approach. In this case, the skin may become sensitive during the process of surgery and recovery. Since our skin can also be affected to some extent when we have surgery, it is best to let the skin rest sufficiently before using a nose pack. This can help prevent skin trouble and similar issues.

Q: Then is dermatology care also possible after one month?

Kocoline Clinic: Yes, that is correct. After rhinoplasty, during the recovery period, many people develop a significant amount of sebum in the nose and strongly hope to receive skin care. However, we also recommend dermatology or aesthetic treatments after one month.

Q: Can I apply skin lotion and sunscreen?

Kocoline Clinic: Yes, all of them can be used. However, if you were told during your follow-up visit that it is okay to wash your face, then you can now wash your face using foam cleanser and similar products. That said, until the skin settles down stably, we recommend continuing to use the products you have already been using without any problems rather than switching to new ones. This is also related to skin recovery, so we would appreciate your reference.
