Hello.
This is Dia Dental Clinic, protecting smiles in Magok-dong.
Did you have a good weekend?
It was a precious spring day with warm sunlight and cherry blossoms, even if only for a moment. But unfortunately, as the news of spring rain started coming in this week, the bright cherry blossoms have not been able to stay in bloom for long and are falling one by one.
I wanted to keep them in sight a little longer…
That’s why this spring feels even shorter.
Still, cherry blossoms will bloom again next year, so let’s set aside the disappointment for a moment and start this week healthy and in good spirits, like a fully blooming smile.
And today as always, let’s begin with a story for your healthy teeth.
Last time, we explained step by step how treatment changes depending on how far the cavity has progressed, right?
If you missed it, don’t worry. You can check it at the link below!
Now, today’s follow-up story!
“What should you be careful about after cavity treatment?”
The treatment is over, but the really important part starts now.
From now on, let’s carefully check the [Precautions After Cavity Treatment] with Dia Dental Clinic!
Precautions After Cavity Treatment: Be Sure to Follow These!
- Take a break from hard, sticky, and chewy foods.

Mokgok-dong Dental Clinic_Hard, sticky, chewy foods prohibited
Until the prosthetic restoration is fully settled after cavity treatment, please stay away for a while from foods such as hard ice, chewy dried squid, and sticky taffy.
To explain why, it is because the restoration is still adjusting and may shift or come loose, much like walking on a gravel road in new shoes.
For at least one day, and preferably for 1–2 weeks, please manage with soft meals!
- Temporary sensitivity is a natural reaction.

Mokgok-dong Dental Clinic_Temporary sensitivity
Feeling tooth sensitivity or slight tenderness after treatment is a common reaction.
That’s because the teeth are a little startled from having been treated.
In most cases, it gets better with time.
But if the pain continues for more than a week, or hurts enough to make you say, “Ouch!”
Then please be sure to visit the dental clinic.
We need to check the condition of the treated area again.
- Let the treated side rest for about a day.

Mokgok-dong Dental Clinic_Do not chew on the treated area
The teeth on the treated side are, quite literally, in a state of “I’d like to rest for today…”
For about one day, please eat using only the teeth on the opposite side.
This small act of care can greatly help the stability and recovery of the restoration!
- If something feels uncomfortable, do not hold it in.

Mokgok-dong Dental Clinic_Discomfort after treatment
After treatment, when chewing food,
"Huh? It feels like something is off." "It feels like something is misaligned when I chew."
In such cases, the occlusion (bite alignment) of the restoration may not fit properly.
If you visit Dia Dental Clinic and make a slight adjustment to the height or position of the restoration, you may feel comfortable again right away.
So don’t put up with it—please stop by!
- Regular checkups are not optional; they are essential.
