step by step, from start to finish.

Veneers Are Usually Completed in Two Visits

Veneers are generally completed in two dental visits.

During the first visit, the teeth are prepared,

then custom-made at the dental laboratory over 5–6 days,

and bonded during the second visit.

However, if there is gum inflammation or additional treatment

is needed, the number of visits may increase.

First Visit – Tooth Preparation and Impressions

1. Consultation and Design

The first thing done before treatment is the design process.

What color, what shape, and how many teeth—

at this stage, we carefully check the condition of the teeth, the gum line, the bite, and the harmony with the surrounding teeth.

Since veneers are an aesthetic treatment, the design stage is the most important process determining the outcome.

2. Tooth Preparation

Once the design is finalized, the front surfaces of the teeth are gently reshaped.

The amount removed is usually about 0.3–0.7 mm.

Depending on the dental clinic or the patient's circumstances,

more may be removed,

or treatment may be performed with minimal or no removal.

we determine the amount of tooth reduction

with the goal of preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.

If dentin hypersensitivity occurs—that is, if there is severe sensitivity

when the teeth are being prepared—treatment is performed after administering anesthesia.

3. Taking Impressions

Precise impressions are taken

to accurately reproduce the teeth and gum line.

Custom fabrication at the dental laboratory begins based on these impressions.

4. Attaching Temporary Teeth

Temporary teeth are attached after the impressions are taken, until the laboratory process is complete.

You will live with the temporary teeth for 5–6 days.

Even with the temporary teeth, you can preview the color and shape.

Laboratory Process – Custom Handcrafting

For 5–6 days after the first visit,

the veneers are fabricated at the dental laboratory.

Based on the impressions, each veneer is precisely made

to match the individual's tooth shape, color, and size.

The quality of this laboratory process determines the final result.

Second Visit – Bonding and Finishing

1. Veneer Try-In

The completed veneers are first fitted onto the teeth.

This is the stage where we check whether the color, shape, and size match the design as intended.

2. Bonding Treatment

To increase bond strength, 10% hydrofluoric acid is applied to the teeth and the inner surfaces of the veneers for approximately 90 seconds.

This is a key step in securely fixing the veneers to the teeth.

3. Bonding and Bite Adjustment

After selecting the bonding resin and fully attaching the teeth and veneers,

the bite is adjusted to complete the procedure.

The upper and lower teeth must come together naturally, and there should be no areas of discomfort—

the treatment is not truly complete until the bite adjustment is finished.

Things to Know After Treatment

☑️ You may feel a foreign sensation at first

Because new teeth have been attached, they may initially feel slightly awkward or unfamiliar. Most people adapt naturally within 1–2 weeks.

☑️ Be careful with hard and chewy foods

Immediately after getting veneers, it is best to avoid foods that are excessively hard or chewy.

☑️ Regular care is important

Veneers, like natural teeth, require thorough brushing and regular checkups. Proper care can significantly extend their lifespan.
