Teeth whitening is one of the treatments most often sought by foreign tourists at our clinic, which has good access to Myeong-dong, Gwanghwamun, and Seoul Station. At dental clinics, professional whitening uses a high concentration of whitening agent that cannot legally be purchased at regular retail stores, so whitening done at a dental clinic is more effective than any other whitening method.

How long does teeth whitening take? Have you heard that whitening makes your teeth sensitive? The whitening agent used at our clinic does not cause severe sensitivity for most patients, because we first diagnose whether the teeth are in a condition suitable for whitening without side effects.

If whitening is done without an examination, and whitening is carried out even though the teeth are not suitable for it, a truly terrible level of sensitivity can occur.

You must undergo a dentist’s diagnosis to confirm whether whitening is possible, and depending on the condition of the teeth, there may be cases where the teeth can become very sensitive after whitening, so a pre-whitening examination is essential.

For teeth whitening, the process takes a lot of time, including the examination, cleaning the tooth surface, applying and hardening the gum protector, applying and removing the whitening agent, and then the longest part: shining the whitening light.

The amount of time under the whitening light differs by clinic.

At our clinic, while many other clinics do 15 minutes per cycle, we do 20 minutes for the first cycle and 15 minutes for the remaining cycles.

(For one-day 2 sessions: whitening light time = 20 minutes & 15 minutes For one-day 3 sessions: whitening light time = 20 minutes & 15 minutes & 15 minutes)

The one-day 2-session treatment takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours from examination to completion, and the one-day 3-session treatment takes about 2 hours from examination to completion, so please allow enough time when making a reservation and visiting the clinic.

Also, please note that you must not eat for at least two hours after whitening, so please plan your schedule accordingly.

(If you do not have Korean National Health Insurance, the non-covered examination for whitening is 15,000 KRW)

☆Option i) Whitening One-Day 3 Sessions = treatment with 3 whitening sessions in one day): 330,000 KRW. Including 10% VAT: 363,000 KRW

☆Option ii) Whitening One-Day 2 Sessions = treatment with 2 whitening sessions in one day): 270,000 KRW. Including 10% VAT: 297,000 KRW

• Teeth whitening is a treatment with VAT legally specified, just like plastic surgery or dermatology treatments.

Whitening involves a lot of time, including the examination, application time for the gum protector, application time for the agent, and time under the light, so reservations are required.

Because the pre-treatment process for teeth whitening is complex and lengthy, for one-day 3 sessions, please expect about 1.5 hours to around 2 hours, and for one-day 2 sessions, please expect about 1 hour to around 1.5 hours when making your reservation.

Caution: After whitening, you may not eat anything except water for 2 hours, so please keep this in mind!
