First, I’d like to talk about swelling management.

The question is how swelling can go down quickly,

and the biggest concern for patients after contouring surgery is that

for the first 3 days after surgery,

swelling gets worse.

Especially in jaw surgery, a compression band is applied like this,

and the reason for wearing it at first is not to make the swelling go down quickly,

but to prevent blood from collecting under the jaw.

It should be kept on for about 3 days after surgery.

After 3 days, if it is pressed too tightly, swelling in the cheeks and lips does not go down well,

so you can do it flexibly to fit the patient’s convenience, such as wearing it for 1 hour and resting for 1 hour.

There are many over-the-counter items sold at pharmacies, such as pumpkin porridge,

and various medications for swelling management.

I recommend taking them.

Getting a fat-dissolving injection to reduce swelling

is not really recommended until one month after surgery,

because the swelling would go down anyway even without it.

Most importantly, after resting for a while and once about 3 days have passed,

it is important to be active and improve blood circulation.

Good blood circulation and lymphatic circulation are necessary for facial swelling to go down well,

so being moderately active and going for walks is good, while avoiding excessive exercise,

and I think maintaining normal daily activities is helpful.

At every follow-up visit, at 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, and 1 month,
