The better you take care of it, the less likely you are to experience inflammation or side effects,

and the more likely you are to maintain beautiful eyes,

so it is important to follow the precautions after surgery.😊

So today, we would like to share the precautions after double eyelid surgery!

These apply not only to double eyelid surgery, but also to lower blepharoplasty, under-eye surgery, epicanthoplasty, and other eye procedures, so please read to the end!

The first precaution is smoking.

It is best to avoid smoking for one week before surgery and for one month after surgery.

Cigarettes constrict blood vessels and interfere with blood circulation.

If blood circulation is poor, nutrient supply slows down and the body’s immunity decreases,

making you more vulnerable to inflammation or infection.

To help wounds heal well,

please be sure to avoid cigarettes after surgery :)

The second precaution is makeup.

In the case of eye surgery with stitches,

it is best not to apply makeup, including lotion and color makeup, to the surgical area.

This is because if cosmetics get into the sutured area or an unhealed wound,

a cyst may form or an infection may occur.

As much as possible, it is best to avoid makeup that irritates the surgical area until one month after stitch removal :)

The third precaution is boarding an airplane.

Because double eyelid surgery is performed locally around the eyelids,

flying is generally safe.

However, the effects of cabin pressure during a flight can worsen swelling or bruising,

and long flights can cause dryness in the eyes

or lead to fatigue, so it is best to avoid flying for at least one week.

The fourth precaution is sleeping posture.

For up to one week after surgery,

during sleep, keep your upper body raised so that your head stays higher than your heart,

and avoid lying on your side or stomach,

which helps swelling go down faster.

Also, when sleeping while lying down, you may change positions,

which can cause more blood that had pooled to drain out,

making the swelling worse.

The fifth precaution is exercise.

Light exercise such as walking or taking a stroll can help reduce swelling.

However, strenuous exercise or exercise that makes you sweat

is best avoided.

Intense exercise can raise blood pressure,

irritate the surgical area, hinder wound healing,

and make swelling worse.

Intense activities such as gym workouts or aerobics are best done

after about three weeks to one month after surgery :)
