Before-and-After Photos of Epicanthoplasty / Canthoplasty

 

 

 To soften the impression, people usually think that only a canthoplasty is needed when lowering the outer corner of the eyes.

 

Of course, in many cases, a canthoplasty for lowering the outer corner of the eyes can also create a softer impression.

 

 

 However, if not only the raised outer corner but also the Mongolian fold at the inner corner, as shown in the pre-surgery photo above,

 

(if the vertical ↑ arrow area of the left eye) is pointed downward,

it can make the impression look sharper, like cat-like eyes.

 

 

 At such times, by performing an epicanthoplasty with a change in direction at the same time as lowering the outer corner,

the pointed Mongolian fold at the inner corner, which appears to angle downward,

 

can be changed to a slightly pointed shape horizontally, and when combined with canthoplasty for lowering the outer corner, the eyes can look even gentler.

 

 

Also, before surgery, the right eye had an out-line double eyelid (the area indicated by the 45-degree angled arrows on both eyes),

 

 while the left eye had an in-line double eyelid, with the Mongolian fold covering the front line of the crease,

 

so the double eyelid lines on both sides were uneven and asymmetrical, but after the direction-changing epicanthoplasty, the in-line on the left changed to an out-line,

 

★the asymmetry on both sides can be corrected without double eyelid revision surgery.★

 

Even when the eyes are closed, the Mongolian fold was visible before surgery, but after the direction-changing epicanthoplasty,

 

the Mongolian fold was opened well horizontally, making the eye length when closed appear longer.

 From the side as well, the Mongolian fold at the inner corner has been opened well,

the raised outer corner has also lowered to become level with the inner corner,

so the overall eye impression looks softer.

 

Please also note that the double eyelid line, which was an in-line, has changed to an out-line like the right eye.
