You may have heard the term blepharo before. It means eyelid. Upper lids are the upper eyelids, and lower lids are the lower eyelids. #Entropion means that the eyelid has rolled inward, and #ectropion means that the eyelid has turned outward.
#The main symptom of entropion is that the eyelashes curl toward the eyeball and stick to it, irritating the eye. This #eyelashirritation not only causes discomfort by touching the sensitive corneal area, but also makes you keep rubbing your eyes, which in theory can affect your vision as well.

#The causes of entropion can be divided into congenital causes and acquired causes.
The congenital cause, in the case of Koreans, is that there is a lot of extra skin around the eyelids, like an epicanthic fold, so the skin becomes lax or pushes the eyelashes inward, causing the eyelashes to point toward the eyeball.
The acquired cause is that, in situations where there is some extra skin around the eyelids and entropion can occur, after outer corner lowering surgery or lower canthoplasty, the eyelid adheres closely to the eyeball, causing the lower eyelashes to point upward.
Congenital cause of entropion
Excess congenital skin folds the eyelashes inward
Acquired cause of entropion
After under-eye surgery, the eyelid rolls inward and the eyelashes rise upward

#Eyelash irritation can be corrected surgically. #Eyelashirritationsurgery, also called #entropioncorrection, is a procedure in which an incision is made just below the eyelashes, and the eyelashes are fixed to the tarsal plate as in upper eyelid double-eyelid surgery, pulling the direction of the upward-pointing eyelashes downward.

Because the incision is made right below the eyelashes, the surgery is technically difficult. Compared with entropion surgery performed by ophthalmology, the incision line is made so that it is hardly visible, so even after one week the scar is barely noticeable. For that reason, many people choose to have the surgery at a plastic surgery clinic for cosmetic purposes. Cosmetic entropion correction surgery, in which the scar is not visible, is not covered by medical insurance and is therefore subject to VAT. Accordingly, most eyelash irritation surgeries performed in plastic surgery clinics are non-covered procedures.

Because almost no scar remains, it is a cosmetic procedure that is not covered by insurance!
