Simultaneous Medial and Lateral Canthoplasty Revision

| When eye revision surgery is needed, it is not always the case that surgery is performed strictly according to the doctor's opinion. In many cases, the surgery is planned while taking the patient's own wishes into account as much as possible. In fact, from a plastic surgery perspective, it may be judged that double-eyelid revision to correct a bulky look and asymmetry, along with ptosis correction, would be more important than revision of the eye-corner procedures. However, depending on patient preference, a completely different operation may be performed. In this case as well, from a plastic surgery standpoint, I advised the patient to correct the bulky-looking double eyelids and to perform ptosis correction for the slightly sleepy appearance, but as they say, surgery is about personal satisfaction... The patient thought the current double-eyelid line was not thick and instead asked about making it higher. |

But for those who do not know much about it, you might think, “It looks like there is nothing more to do with the medial canthoplasty, so what exactly are they trying to do?” However, if you look closely, you can see that an incomplete ) ( shaped epicanthal fold remained from the previous medial canthoplasty. What the patient wanted was also to remove the ) ( shaped fold and make the inner corner more pointed. After surgery, the inner corner was corrected to a sharper shape and, as the patient wanted, the slightly upturned appearance was brought down into a straighter line. |

| As for the lateral canthoplasty, unlike the concerns of those who are not familiar with it, both the short-term and long-term postoperative results are healing well. |

| The purpose of lateral canthoplasty is, of course, to adjust the position of the outer corner of the eye. It can also lengthen the eye shape and make the eye line look slightly less lifted. Compared with two weeks after surgery, it has narrowed a little, but you can clearly see that it is different from before surgery. |

| Unlike lateral canthoplasty at other clinics, this shows that it has not reattached even one year after surgery, and its effect is clearly evident. |
