Just as an eyelid crease is not considered an eyelid crease only when it appears as a single, clear, and distinct line,

removing an eyelid crease does not mean removing only a thick, deep crease that appears as a single line.

A natural eyelid crease present since birth, or a surgically created eyelid crease, tends to form as a thick and clear line,

but when a crease loosens after double eyelid surgery or when a crease forms as the skin sags with age,

the eyelid crease may not be a single fold and may instead appear as multiple folds, with either a deep or shallow crease.

the surgery is performed by adjusting whether skin is excised, how much skin is excised, and the degree of dissection of the tissue adhering to the eyelid crease.

Usually, eyelid crease removal surgery

is performed using the incision method

to achieve a definite result in removing the crease.

Because of this, as shown,

an incision line will remain,

but this scar naturally improves over time.

Also, when performing crease removal surgery,

a portion of sagging skin is sometimes removed together

to help prevent short-term recurrence,

and as a result, some people temporarily have trouble fully closing their eyes.

For those who originally slept with their eyes only partially closed,

the eyes may still not fully close,

but for those who used to close their eyes well,

they usually recover within a certain period, so there is no need to worry.

For example, an eye that used to close well before surgery

may close slightly less well on postoperative day 5,

but in the final photo, taken before two months have passed after surgery,

it can be seen that the eye closes well again.

Eyelid crease removal surgery

usually does not cause much swelling after surgery,

but due to postoperative swelling and the incision line,

for a while, as in the photo taken on postoperative day 5,

the crease may still appear slightly as an inner crease.

However, as time passes and the incision scar fades,

the final photo shows the eyelid crease gradually disappearing.

Even at stitch removal on day 5,

there is no major swelling, and the result looks natural.

Eyelid crease removal surgery

is different from double eyelid surgery or epicanthoplasty,

in that it boasts a short recovery period of about 1–2 weeks,

and the effect is also clear.
