When the weather becomes dry, many symptoms such as dry eyes, sensitivity to light, and eye stinging can occur.

When these symptoms appear, they can be very uncomfortable.

What is even more uncomfortable is eyelash irritation.

This condition is called entropion, and

when the lower eyelashes rub against the eye, it is called lower entropion.

Lower entropion refers to the condition in which the lower eyelashes do not point outward from the eye,

but instead, as in the photo above, point inward toward the eye and irritate the eyeball.

To relieve the discomfort caused by this, we undergo entropion correction surgery.

Entropion surgery is not essential but optional,

so some people who have eyelashes rubbing their eyes say, 'I can just pull them out,' and do not get the procedure.

However, it is a surgery often sought by people who want correction because their eyelashes look abnormally directed even if they do not rub the eye,

or by people who have corneal injuries from eyelash irritation that affect their vision.

Looking at the direction of the lower eyelashes before and after surgery,

you can see that the lower eyelashes, which had been pointing upward before surgery,

have clearly come down after surgery.

Entropion correction surgery can also be performed in ophthalmology,

but people who are concerned about aesthetics and scarring often have it done at a plastic surgery clinic.

Unlike double eyelid surgery, it does not cause much swelling,

and the recovery period is about one week, so it is a relatively 부담 없는 procedure.
