[Rari Plastic Surgery] Eliminating Thick Double Eyelids with a Near-No-Double-Eyelid Inner Fold

A thin inner double eyelid can disappear without looking particularly awkward or strange,

but if a thick double eyelid suddenly disappears, it can look very awkward and strange.

So we end up wondering...

No double eyelid...?

Inner double eyelid...?

This patient had previously undergone double-eyelid surgery and was concerned about the burden of having a thick double eyelid.

Because the double eyelid was quite thick, there was a lot of worry about whether it would look awkward if it suddenly disappeared, and whether eyelid closure would be affected after skin excision.

However, despite those concerns, the thick double eyelid before surgery changed to something very close to a no-double-eyelid look after surgery, and the eyes actually became clearer and more refined.

Did this person undergo surgery for a no-double-eyelid look, or for an inner double eyelid?

In the front-facing photo above, the double eyelid appears to have disappeared completely, as if there is no double eyelid at all, but when looking downward or closing the eyes, you can see that it is not a complete no-double-eyelid look.

The thickly pinched double eyelid seen when looking downward before surgery was changed to a thinner one after surgery, and the pinched appearance was greatly reduced, so it is not very noticeable.

There were also concerns about incomplete eyelid closure,

but because the surgery was performed with a thin inner double-eyelid line rather than a complete no-double-eyelid look, the amount of skin removed was small, and the procedure was carried out in a way that did not place a burden on eyelid closure.

(There are individual differences, so in some cases the eyes may not close as well at first.)

A near-no-double-eyelid inner fold is easier to understand from the side.

That is because the thin line curls inward and is only slightly visible at the end.

This line is so thin that it is barely visible, so from the front it looks like a no-double-eyelid eye, which is why we describe it as a near-no-double-eyelid inner fold.

If it were a complete no-double-eyelid look, the eyes might appear somewhat rigid, but by leaving a slight inner fold, we created eyes that are moderately soft, yet neat and clean.
