Natural double eyelids include congenital double eyelids that a person has from birth and acquired double eyelids that develop as the skin sags with aging.

Congenital double eyelids are originally just a natural part of you, so they do not feel very unfamiliar. But acquired double eyelids can become noticeable only after they have gradually formed, and they may look awkward and unfamiliar.

This is a case of a naturally formed double eyelid acquired over time. Rather than a complete double-eyelid shape, it was an ambiguous line like a crease on the upper eyelid, and through double-eyelid removal surgery, the double eyelid was erased into a monolid.

Compared with before surgery, the photo was taken with the head tilted down too much after surgery, so the eye shape looks a little harsher, but the crease on the upper eyelid has completely disappeared, making it a monolid.

Because the previous eyes were monolids, the goal was to have the same complete monolid as before, and although the double eyelids had been there for more than 5 years, a satisfactory monolid result was achieved. After surgery, the impression looks much clearer and cleaner than before surgery.

The front part of the left eye still shows a slight scar even after the double eyelid was removed, because there was a scar there before surgery, but it is not noticeable enough to be a concern.

After removing the double eyelid so that it becomes a complete monolid, there is no line even when looking downward.

Also, when people hear about double-eyelid removal surgery, some think that all the skin on the double-eyelid area is simply cut away, resulting in eyes that cannot close properly. However, double-eyelid removal surgery

is performed through an appropriate amount of skin excision + a process of releasing the adhesion of the double eyelid,

and that is how the result is produced. It is not that the double eyelid disappears simply by removing skin alone!

In the early period after surgery, the eyes may close a little less well, but as time passes, the eyes naturally come to close well. (For people whose eyes originally do not close completely, that condition may continue.)
