When a surgically created double eyelid loosens,

many people think it will return to the previous eye line.

When a double eyelid loosens, it may indeed return to the previous eye shape,

but there are also many cases where it does not.

Rather than returning to the way it was before, multiple unclear folds are formed above and below

the surgical double eyelid line.

This kind of double eyelid loosening is actually no one’s fault.

It is not that the surgery was done wrong and caused the loosening,

and it is not that the patient did anything wrong either.

Even with a non-incisional procedure, it may not loosen for more than 10 years,

while with an incisional procedure, it may loosen in just 10 days.

Because a loosened double eyelid does not look good,

revision surgery is performed to correct the line.

If several weak, unfixed lines on the eyelid are organized into one line,

and the surgery is performed to create a natural height that is not too thick,

the double eyelid can settle into a more attractive shape again.

These are the most commonly seen

before-surgery, 3-month, and 6-month follow-up photos.

One point to look at here is the double eyelid line at the inner corner of the left eye.

At the 3-month mark, if you look at the left eye (right side in the photo), you can see that the front part of the double eyelid line

is slightly split into two lines.

It was fine in the early period after surgery,

but at the 3-month follow-up visit, we confirmed that the front part of the double eyelid line had split into two lines.

Then, at the 6-month follow-up visit,

the two-line split in the front part of the double eyelid line had improved significantly.

The eyes are not a structure that stays still like the nose or ears.

They blink and move hundreds or thousands of times a day, or even within an hour.

Because of this, they are easily exposed to structural changes,

so they may look fine at one week but become unusual at one month,

and they may look unusual at three months but then improve again at six months.

That is why, after surgery, it is best to have follow-up visits regularly

according to the period recommended by the clinic,

and to observe the direction in which the condition may change through follow-up care.
