the crease will disappear right after the surgery.

Of course, there are people like that.

Even if there is still a slight line, the previous double-eyelid crease was so, so thick

that it feels as if the line has disappeared completely,

and there are also people whose line is not visible immediately after surgery.

However, for most patients, because of the incision line from the surgery to remove double eyelids,

the double-eyelid crease may seem to remain visible and feel present for a while after surgery.

So, as shown in this photo,

at the beginning after surgery, the double-eyelid crease is visible because of the incision line,

but as time passes, the swelling goes down and the incision scar heals,

you can confirm that the double eyelids have disappeared.

So if you are worried because the crease has not disappeared at the beginning after surgery, you can rest assured.

Does surgery to remove double eyelids make the eyes smaller?

Yes, that can happen.

Surgery to remove double eyelids can be done in two ways:

completely monolid / a semi-monolid that is close to a monolid.

When the surgery is performed as a completely monolid, the eyes may become smaller.

In eyes that previously had double eyelids,

the skin of the upper eyelid folds inward through the double-eyelid crease

and helped lift the eyelid that covers the eye.

But if the double eyelid is removed completely and becomes a monolid,

there is nothing to perform that role,

so the skin of the upper eyelid directly touches the eye area and presses on the eye,

making the eyes look slightly smaller than before surgery.

A semi-monolid that is close to a monolid looks like a monolid when the eyes are open,

but when looking at the outer corner or when looking down,

a slight crease is visible.

In this case, the eyes do not become smaller like with a completely monolid,

and in most cases, the previous eye size is maintained.

If you do not want the double-eyelid crease to be visible even when looking down, a completely monolid line is recommended.

If you do not want your eyes to become smaller, a semi-monolid line close to a monolid is recommended.
