It’s a symbol of fatigue..

In fact, dark circles are caused by blood vessels showing through the thin skin under the eyes or by pigmentation in the skin under the eyes,

but we often mistake them for being caused by hollowness under the eyes.

Normally, the area under the eyes below the aegyo-sal volume should be sunken.

That helps the aegyo-sal look fuller and gives the face more dimension.

However, because this hollow overlaps with the dark-circle area,

many people think the dark circles are caused by this hollow and try to fill the sunken area under the eyes with something foreign, such as filler or fat.

After filling the under-eye area with such foreign material,

the initial improvement in hollowness may be satisfying,

but as time passes, the bulging of the filled foreign material instead

can make the under-eye area look swollen, or cause a firm foreign-body sensation under the eyes,

leading to other undesirable effects.

At that point, the foreign material must be removed,

but the material that was easy to inject as a simple procedure

becomes something very troublesome that requires making an incision in the lower eyelid skin and scraping everything out.

To remove the foreign material,

the lower eyelid skin is incised so that the material can be clearly distinguished from the original tissue,

the adhesions are released, and everything is scraped away smoothly and completely.

Otherwise, the under-eye area may become uneven,

and if removal is done incorrectly, tissue necrosis or contracture may cause the lower eyelid to turn outward,

leading to a second functional problem.

Once the foreign material under the eyes is neatly removed in this way,

the bulging under the eyes disappears, the aegyo-sal looks fuller,

and because the lower eyelid that had been pushed up and supported from below is no longer pressing against the pupil,

the feeling of heaviness in the lower eyelid also disappears at the same time,

creating a much cleaner and fresher impression.

Because the foreign material was removed through an incision in the lower eyelid skin,

a scar will form on the visible lower eyelid skin,

but the incision line, which is very close to the lower eyelashes, is almost impossible to notice unless you look closely,

except for the sutures immediately after surgery.
