Having had a medial canthoplasty

does not always mean the eyes will look as if the inner corners have been pulled wide open.

Even after medial canthoplasty, depending on the design, surgical method, and how well the patient’s wound heals,

the inner corners of the eyes may end up with a rounded result.

Also, does having a medial canthoplasty scar automatically mean that revision surgery to restore the inner corner is necessary?

Unless the scar is severe, such as an obvious hook-shaped scar that can be seen right away,

it does not always need to be corrected only with medial canthoplasty restoration.

This patient’s preoperative photo shows the result after medial canthoplasty at another hospital.

The inner corners were blunt and rounded,

and the right eye (left side in the photo) had a medial canthoplasty scar that looked uneven.

Because it is also important to make a rounded shape look sharper even when there is a scar,

we corrected the inner corner shape through medial canthoplasty revision surgery

and also refined the scar as naturally and smoothly as possible.

Likewise, although the patient had also undergone lateral canthoplasty at another hospital,

it had shown no effect at all before surgery.

After undergoing lateral canthoplasty revision at Rari Plastic Surgery,

it became a true lateral canthoplasty result, with noticeably larger eyes and properly opened corners.

This is not just a lateral opening that widens horizontally.

By having under-eye fat repositioning at the same time as the lateral canthoplasty,

the under-eye bulging was corrected together,

Even though the eyes had already undergone canthoplasty before,

once the inner and outer corners were properly opened after revision surgery,

they looked much larger and clearer.

These photos show recovery one month after surgery,

but they are in a naturally healed state with almost no swelling.
