We want our eyes—the feature that determines our first impression and the lasting impression we leave—to look kind, soft, clear, and positive.

However, things like sausage-like double eyelids, uneven eyes, fierce-looking eyes, or small, stuffy-looking eyes may help emphasize the characteristics of the eyes, but as mentioned above, they do not leave a particularly good impression.

Looking at the pre-surgery photo, this patient had thick, sausage-like double eyelids, and the thickness on both sides was uneven, resulting in asymmetrical double eyelids.

In addition, the shape of the double eyelids was not a soft hemispherical curve, but rather a shape in which the highest central area looked pressed down, so it did not give a smooth impression.

This was corrected through double eyelid revision surgery, which lowered the double eyelid line into a curve suited to the eye shape and made both sides more similar. For cases of asymmetrical eyes like this, surgery to remove the double eyelids can also be a good option, but for women, when there are no double eyelids, it can be difficult to do eye makeup well, so they often want to keep some degree of a line. By naturally reducing the line to the point where the double eyelid line is moderately visible while correcting the sausage-like double eyelids and asymmetry, we addressed the three issues the patient wanted to improve all at once.

In addition, double eyelid revision surgery corrected part of the scar from the previous double eyelid surgery, so even though the surgery was performed once more, the scar is improved compared to before the surgery.

If revision surgery had been performed with a non-incisional method, scar correction would not have been possible, but because the double eyelid revision surgery was performed with an incisional method, it could be corrected at the same time.

At 10 months after surgery, the incision line from the double eyelid revision surgery has healed naturally without redness and is almost invisible.

Even from the side, you can see that the double eyelid line has been neatly refined in a smooth and soft way. In particular, the thickness of the back part of the double eyelid line, which had looked pressed down and became much thicker toward the back, has improved significantly.

The change in impression came not only from the double eyelid line but also from undergoing lateral canthoplasty revision surgery at the same time, which made the eyes look a little gentler and more open, creating a synergistic effect. Instead of excessively lowering only the outer corner of the eye, the surgery made the eyes appear longer horizontally while naturally lowering the outer corner that had slightly turned upward at the end, creating a clear-eyed look that is not burdensome.

These are before-and-after photos of double eyelid revision surgery and lateral canthoplasty revision surgery that show how the eyes can still look larger even when the double eyelid line is made thinner, and that it is important to increase the overall size through canthoplasty.

If only the double eyelid line is corrected, the stuffy feeling in the eyes will still remain, and if only lateral canthoplasty is performed, then if the line is too thick and the shape is not attractive, the eye shape would not look smooth and would not have a natural feel.
