[Lari Plastic Surgery] Rapid Correction After Incisional Eye Correction Surgery: Removing Double Eyelids in One Week Without Waiting 6 Months

"After double eyelid surgery, you have to wait about six months."

This is almost like a mathematical formula.

Is it the accepted consensus in academic discussions about plastic surgery?

However, that waiting period is a very difficult time for anyone.

If I could take a long enough break, I might be able to accept and wait for even the most ordinary and expected result.

But if I cannot afford time off from work and still have to meet many people, then a condition that requires waiting cannot satisfy my immediate needs.

The preoperative condition in the photo above was on the 7th day after the patient had undergone incisional eye correction surgery at another hospital.

As you can see in the photo, the stitches at the incision site had not even been removed yet.

Although the patient knew that waiting was necessary, they had not expected the double eyelid to turn out this way.

After coming in for a consultation with a heightened awareness of the seriousness of the situation, they decided to proceed with surgery right away.

As you know, surgery on the double eyelid area requires waiting for 6 months, but if correction is desired and correction is necessary, it is better to perform the correction as soon as possible, without delaying beyond a maximum of 2 weeks.

The timing for rapid correction was appropriate, and the patient underwent double eyelid removal surgery so that the result became close to a monolid with only a very subtle inner fold.

Unlike the thicker line seen before surgery, you can see that it changed to a monolid after surgery. This is a photo taken 3 months after surgery, not even after waiting 6 months.

Since this could be considered a one-sided comparison with different time periods, I brought before-and-after photos from the same timeframe for a fair comparison.

The photo above shows the state before surgery as day 7 after incisional eye correction at another hospital, and the photo after surgery is day 6 after double eyelid removal surgery at our clinic.

Can you clearly compare them under the same conditions?!

Compared with the photo taken 3 months after surgery, the day-6 photo after surgery still shows swelling in the eyelids, but whether it is day 6 or 3 months after surgery, the double eyelid has clearly been removed.

Another issue before surgery was not only the thickness of the line.

Even when looking downward, there was no sense that anything was wrong with the line, but

when the eyes were closed, it was possible to confirm that the line was being formed in a different area from the incision line.

Rather than the line being formed at the sutured area, the double eyelid line was appearing not just partially but across the entire area in a different place.

Looking at the photo taken 3 months after surgery, after the operation was performed to create a subtle inner fold close to a monolid, the incision line is very thin because it is very close to the eyelashes.

When the eyes are open, it becomes an inner fold that completely tucks in like this and looks like a monolid.

Because this was a correction performed without waiting for 6 months, even if you hear that it is possible and that it should be done now, it may still not be easy to decide on rapid correction surgery right away.

However, rapid correction depends on timing, so a quick decision is necessary, and because it involves stimulating and touching the surgical site once again before the wound has fully healed, it is important to have the procedure done at a place with extensive experience and sufficient anatomical knowledge, where the surgery can be performed accurately without overdoing or underdoing it.
