Double eyelid revision surgery is now something that some people even undergo a third or fourth time.

Double eyelid surgery is a procedure that people can easily approach and try, as they raise or lower the line depending on fashion and makeup.

However, the premise at this time is based on the expectation that both double eyelid lines will turn out with equally beautiful shapes. So when the two sides are uneven, it can inevitably become a major source of stress.

In most cases, asymmetry in the double eyelid line is not because both sides are equally unsatisfactory, but rather because one side is fine while the other is not. Still, people worry whether having surgery on only one side will really make both sides match well.

This patient had undergone surgery to lower the double eyelid line,

and while the right side (left in the photo) had been lowered well compared to before,

the left side (right in the photo) was still higher than the right side, resulting in uneven double eyelids.

So surgery was performed on only the left double eyelid, matching its height to the thickness of the right double eyelid line.

The surgery was performed after confirming the result six months after the recovery period for the double eyelid line had passed, and because some skin removal is also necessary to lower the line, it was carried out as an incisional procedure.

Only the left eye was operated on, with no special eye-correction procedure or anything like that, and only the line was subtly lowered a little to match both eyes. It has been a little over a month since the surgery, but you can see that the height of the double eyelid line has matched well.

Since only about a month has passed since the surgery, when the eyes are closed, the red scar is still noticeably visible.

Even when looking downward, you can clearly feel that the line thickness has been corrected. Before the surgery, there was a significant difference in thickness even at the point when the line began to form, but after the revision surgery to lower the left eye’s line, the thickness became similar.

Of course, there are cases where it is difficult to match the eyes by operating on only one side, and if correction is needed because both sides are somewhat unsatisfactory in addition to being uneven, both eyes must be operated on. But in cases like this, the desired result can be achieved even with surgery on only one side.
