[Rari Plastic Surgery] Before-and-After Photos of Double Eyelid Removal Surgery for Both Correction and Prevention

Natural double eyelids are not always a good thing.

Just because they appear without surgery doesn’t mean you’ll be happy with every double eyelid, right?

Natural double eyelids that develop later in life are usually not the kind that look pretty and clean, like multiple layered double eyelids, uneven double eyelids with different sizes, or asymmetrical double eyelids that appear only on one side.

So when a double eyelid appears, there are people who feel stressed and worried because of it.

This is exactly that kind of case.

Before surgery, this patient used the forehead muscles very heavily when opening the eyes, which led to a double eyelid developing later on.

If you look at the before-and-after photos cropped to match the eye size ratio, you can guess how much the forehead muscles were being used from the fact that in the pre-surgery photo, the eyebrows are barely visible compared with the post-surgery photo.

When you use the forehead muscles a lot in addition to the muscles that open the eyes, the eyelid skin stretches more, and as a result, it can develop into a double eyelid accompanied by sagging skin.

Even from the pre-surgery photo alone, the degree to which the eyebrows are visible differs on each side. The fact that the left eyebrow is barely visible is evidence that the left side of the forehead is being used more. As a result, a thick double eyelid formed on the left eye, and the right eye also developed a situation where a double eyelid would sometimes appear.

So, to remove the double eyelid on the left eye, correction. For the right eye, to prevent a double eyelid from forming, prevention. A double eyelid removal surgery was performed.

Before proceeding with the double eyelid removal surgery, forehead Botox was administered first. Because the forehead muscles are used habitually, if they are not externally restrained with something like Botox, they will be used again, and the forehead muscles used in that way could create a double eyelid again after the double eyelid removal surgery in the well-corrected eyelid.

The forehead, well controlled with Botox, no longer moved unlike before surgery, and the eyelids corrected with the double eyelid removal no-eye surgery are being well maintained at 4 months after surgery.

Because this patient had insufficient eye-opening strength and used the forehead muscles together, a slight eye-opening correction was performed within a safe range, so even after receiving Botox in the forehead, the eyes could open clearly, making the post-surgery eyes, with the double eyelids removed, look larger and cleaner.

The incision scar is on a line very close to the eyelashes, so it is noticeable at first, but it heals naturally over time, and there may be some incomplete eyelid closure during recovery after surgery, but it gradually recovers and can close like this. (If the eyes were not fully closing even before surgery, that will not be corrected.)
