[Rari Plastic Surgery] Difficulty Opening the Eyes, Severe Asymmetry, and Multiple Eyelid Creases: Solved with Crease Removal Surgery!

The patient we’ll look at through photos today

has been troubled by multiple thick eyelid creases that suddenly appeared 10 years ago,

making the eyes look tired and severely asymmetrical.

Looking at the eyes that had been troubled by these sudden creases 10 years ago,

it is easy to see how much stress he must have felt over the years.

Looking at the eyes before surgery, it is unlikely that simply the appearance of a crease caused such a dramatic difference in how open the eyes were.

His eyes already did not open well and gave a tired impression,

and the suddenly formed thick natural crease likely made it even harder to open his eyes.

First, the thickness of the naturally formed crease was very pronounced,

and the shape and size of the crease line were different,

and the degree to which the eyes opened was also different.

To solve these three issues at once,

crease removal surgery was performed.

Although the procedure was performed under the name crease removal surgery,

detail-wise, it was similar to doing several surgeries at the same time.

First, the thick crease, which was the main cause of the uneven crease thickness, was loosened and removed,

and then eye-opening correction surgery was performed to match the degree of eye opening.

As the different crease line disappeared and the eyes began to open more similarly,

the noticeably uneven eyes were effectively corrected.

Male patients are less likely than female patients to want round, large eyes, so even when performing eye-opening correction, the surgery must be done while keeping both sides balanced without being excessive.

Correcting both sides to match the eye-opening strength through eye-opening correction while the eyes are under anesthesia is by no means easy.

So, in some cases, even after the anesthesia swelling has subsided by the day of suture removal, if there is still enough difference between the two eyes to require correction, immediate re-correction is performed. This is done so that the eyes can be made as similar as possible, even if they are not perfectly symmetrical.

Comparing before surgery and six months after surgery,

you can see that the eyes have changed a great deal and were corrected very well. Even when the eyes are closed, there is almost no scar, and they look natural.
