[Lari Plastic Surgery] Double Eyelid Removal Surgery and Upper Eyelid Fat Grafting Surgery: Comparing Recovery and Swelling Over 6 Months

Some people often have large movements around the eyes.

In many of those cases, the eyelid skin is thin and there is little fat, so unless they are especially smiling, they can look dull and hollow.

This patient was the same.

The upper eyelids were sunken, making the brow bone stand out, and the resulting shadow made the eyes look tired and dull.

Ten years ago, the patient had non-incisional double eyelid surgery, but the line thickness and eye size were both asymmetrical, and the eyelids had also become hollow, so after worrying about it, the patient came to our clinic.

After enough consultation, we transplanted fat into the sunken upper eyelids and performed surgery to remove the double eyelid while creating a very thin inner double eyelid line.

By grafting fat into the upper eyelids, the sunken eye area shows the effect immediately even in the photo taken not long after surgery, so you can see that the hollow area has disappeared.

However, the patient was worried about the thick line.

Although the surgery was planned to make the double eyelid line almost disappear, close to no double eyelid, the still-thick-looking double eyelid was the first concern, and the second concern was that the eye size was still different!!

One month after surgery, the surgery was actually successful.

Because the eye sizes were different, we also performed ptosis correction on the left eye by tying the Mueller muscle, and the line had also been lowered significantly.

However, the reason these differences were still present was swelling and scar reaction at the surgical site.

Swelling and scarring vary greatly from person to person, but for people who smoke a lot, swelling often lasts longer, and scars often remain dark red, and contracture can also occur at the wound site, so it is better for smokers to refrain from smoking before and after surgery to help wound healing.

Looking at the photo above, which is two months after surgery, you can clearly see that it is gradually improving.

The thickness of the double eyelid line still looks a bit thick, but the eye sizes are becoming more balanced and recovery is progressing.

However, the patient may still have been worried ㅠㅠ It had only been two months, after all, and the desired eyes had not yet been achieved..

The patient originally had a lot of movement around the eyes, but at this point we noticed that the patient was using the left eyebrow a lot, so as an auxiliary treatment we injected Botox into the forehead (especially the left side) and observed the progress.

After enduring a long period of patience, we finally reached the long-awaited 6-month mark.

The swelling and scarring around the eyes recovered well, and both eyes settled into similar positions, and the effect of the Botox also appeared, easing the habit of raising the left eyebrow, so the line changed into a natural inner double eyelid.

The patient was very stressed and worried because the short-term progress was different from what was expected, but by trusting the clinic and waiting, we were ultimately able to achieve a good result.

The thick double eyelid line has changed to a very natural inner double eyelid, and not only are the eye sizes now balanced, but the hollow area in the upper eyelids has also been filled in, creating a much more lively and smooth eye shape, resulting in a good improvement.
