The reason for undergoing double eyelid removal surgery is

to get rid of the double eyelids.

Whether it is a surgically created double eyelid, a natural double eyelid, or one that appeared five years ago,

From the photo, the thick natural double eyelid that was present before surgery

The thick double eyelids that were an outer line before surgery

were removed through double eyelid removal surgery,

and after the double eyelids were gone, they changed to an inner line, becoming a much more natural state.

Of course, if you look at the intermediate photos in this process,

it was not neatly folded into an inner line from the beginning,

and there was still an outward protrusion due to swelling and scarring.

As time passed, the swelling went down and the scars relaxed,

resulting in a natural inner line.

One more thing to look at is what happens when the eyes are closed.

There are often cases where eyes that closed well before surgery become less fully closed after surgery.

The degree of incomplete eye closure after surgery varies depending on the time period and the person. After surgery, many people generally have less complete eye closure in the early stage,

and in some cases the degree can be severe,

but over a short period of 3 to 6 months after surgery, and in some cases up to a year, the eyes gradually recover,

and the incomplete eye closure gradually improves until the eyes close again.

If you look at photos after surgery, since the eyes are not closing fully at first,

some people think that even the degree of incomplete eye closure shown in the photo above is 'exposure keratitis.'

There may be differences in severity, but in the early stage after surgery

many patients experience incomplete eye closure and are startled,

but this is a temporary phenomenon, so there is no need to worry too much.

It will all get better with time, haha.

Of course, there is discomfort during the process as the incomplete eye closure improves,

so you need to take care of it during the recovery period,

but there is no need to be frightened and think that your eyes are not closing at all.^^

As mentioned above, unlike on day 6 after surgery,

by 6 months after surgery, you can confirm that the eyes close properly with the eyelids fully shut.

The time it takes for each person’s eyes to close like before again varies greatly,

and since no one comes to the hospital exactly when their eyes start closing again to check their progress,

when patients ask worriedly, “When will my eyes fully close again?”

we also cannot give an exact date. At the hospital, we check the patient’s condition based on statistics gathered through surgical experience,

patients’ progress, and their reports.

So, if your eyes feel a little uncomfortable after surgery, do not be anxious,

and do not worry about incomplete eye closure that will improve with time;
